RS 4.0 or Speciale or 16M?
#32
I have never driven a 16M. I do however have a Speciale and it is absolutely brilliant. Perfect for the track and is also really really fun on some twisty roads. I also had a 997.2 GT3 and it is so engaging with the manual gearbox and the sound of that Mezger engine is intoxicating. I'm sure the 4.0 will be even better.
It is a difficult choice but I guess it really comes down to what you have got in your garage and choosing something that is unique for you. Good luck

The 16M has the SuperFast 2 transmission with 60ms shift times that really add a lot of drama as you're hooked up and on upward fast!

Never driven a 4.0, but my scuderia is way more fun and exciting than my previous 3.8 RS. I have driven a speciale and still find the scud to be more raw and better sounding. The transmission in the scud/16m is just unlike anything else.

I have spent a lot of time in both the scud and 4.0! They both have their sweet spots. The Ferrari is a bit more hard core. Feels like it will rip the rear axle of the car when you drive it hard.
Personally love the interior of the Scud. Very race car like wih loads of alcantara and wonderful seats.
I just found that after a while I got tired of the scud. The neck braking gear changes.
Never felt that way about the 4.0! A big factor of that comes down to the total package of the 4.0! It's engine, gear box, suspension! Everything just plays so well together.
Can't really go wrong with any of these cars. I wouldn't mind adding a Scud to my stable. It just wouldn't be used as much as the 4.0

I concur with that. the scud is so raw. I really felt like the transmission was about to fall out, but yet it was so great. That said it depends on preference. I personally prefer the refinement of the porsche and that would be my vote. I am a turbo guy, but did drive a 4.0 and its so linear its amazing. I love the sound and console of the Ferrari - nothing touches it, but the driving experience is very different. This is really a matter of your preference. Great problem to have

I see you had an 04 TT x50 6 speed. How did you like it compared to the 997? I know it's a GT2, so maybe apples and pickles....Just curious. I have an 05 TTS in black that I'm enjoying more and more.
