I did it since, if you are already in there tearing stuff apart, you might as well.

For reference, here's what the OEM 997.1 GT3 shifter bushings consist of:

(OEM shifter bushings: plastic sleeve bearing > rubber insulator > plastic snap-in housing)

Haha, no problem at all - thanks and you're welcome! Just trying to add value to Rennlist.

But yes, the Trans Mount Insert does a great job of enhancing shifter feel and precision, especially under dynamic conditions.

which shift cable? depends on what u want.
i tried just about eveything under the sun. i know what i want.
dont worry what the ingredients are, rubber, platic, metal whatever, thats for the engineers. i have zero interest in knowing any of that. it's the WHOLE that matters. if the shifter is made of mushroom i dont care as long as it shifts the way i like.

every 7 i had has it replaced.
every 6 i had, i prefer oem
that's how my right hand tells me.

so find few cars and try it.

some really $$$ and nice shiftting stuff out there i think are junk for ME. the one with very tall handle and beautifully machined. it's too short of throw for me. but i could be perfect for YOU.

everyone say 6gt3 is rubbery, but i really like it. go figure

Thanks don't see that many detailed reviews on here. You should probably send me one for "testing" in a 4.0 Frankencar

Absolutely! Here's the link to the product page
http://www.function-first.com/produc...s-mount-insert

In all seriousness, there are several areas to address for enhanced shifter precision, durability, feel, etc. And as noted above, a lot of this comes down to personal preference and your existing set up. You have to ask yourself how you drive your car, how much you want to spend upgrading it, and what exact aspect of the shifting you're looking to fix. Upgrading any of the following will improve shifting precision:

1. Engine Mounts
2. Transmission Mount
3. Shifter
4. Shift Cables (and cable ends)
5. Shift ****

Also important to note...there will be trade-offs with every one of these upgrades - more NVH, notchiness, styling, etc. It all comes down to exactly which problem you're trying to address and what remedies you can live with.
