pull the top plate
push out the studs
move them to the other holes
reinstall

There isn't much to picture really, it's not really just a 'rotate' you have to move the studs, it only goes in 1 way.

I got -2.7 without the hats rotated but I added a lot of shims. As a result of adding a lot of shims I think my caster dropped from 8 to about 7. Do you lose caster if you rotate the hat as well? I supposed if I rotated with all the shims I had you can get past -3.0?

rotated hats optimize the caster for high camber

So you can keep camber at stock 8 while getting -3 camber? When shimmed to get to -2.7 without rotating I lost too much caster. My 245 slick still fits but it's close due to the tire moving forward when caster dropped.

I guess the max camber and stock caster is how people stuff a 275 in the front.

with aggressive alignments you get better geometry with the rotated plate. so basically, yes, optimize caster while maximizing camber

You have it backwards. When you add shims your wheel is pulled forward and you get an increase in caster. You can dial caster back into specification by clocking the caster puck in the LCA (assuming you have Cup LCAs or some of the aftermarket ones).

I installed the adjustable thrust arms to get the caster back in spec at -3.0 camber.

Can anyone post what kind of caster numbers with the tophats rotated and shimmed to -3?
