About 5/gal for 91, 10/gal for 101. They take credit cards at the pump.

If you want to get gas prior to the track stop at Chiraco summit, thats the last gas station heading from LA.

Is there absolutely nothing around the track? Doesn't look like there is much there...

Anything else to know for a first-timer at Chuck?

Desert Center is a ghost town pretty much. There is a convenience store about 5 mins drive from the track.

When you're heading out, don't pass the entry - look for the cell tower on the right and the big tank on it's side with the Chuckwalla raceway sign.

If anyone who is paid registered did not get the details on drivers meeting, etc, PM me.

Email went out last week with schedule.

Not showing up for drivers meeting means no driving. Roll will be taken.

Can I just show up to watch? Should I bring my 911 or my Tacoma full of Snap On tools?

Sure you're more than welcome to spectate... track charges $10 entry fee for the day.

Bring your tacoma full of tools with your 911 on a trailer and get that thing out on the track!!!! :-)

Did about 30 laps at the Autocross Experience at the CFOS on Saturday. That, and maybe 10 laps last year, are the only "Experience" I have. I don't think tracking the car is in the cards for me. It's a dedicated road trip car. It's been to Moonstone Beach more times than it's been to the grocery store or my office.

I will admit that autocross was a blast in such a capable car. The instructor kept yelling to look at the exit of the turn. I was freakin' dizzy I was going so fast. Wide open in second gear and not hitting cones was an out of body experience. The instructor congratulated me on not spinning in the far turn when I intentionally kicked the back end out for fun. He didn't believe me when I told him I'd never done actual autocross.

Bring a helmet :-) Or maybe we can find you a loaner.

I'll be there in my 964, happy to take you for a few laps. It will be my first time on this track with it. So no records will be set. I do have 100s of laps here...and i'm "OK" in my RS.

But, I'm happy to facilitate the addiction to this hobby!

But yeah, not having racetrack experience will be a bit intimidating. So good to get a ride along.

BTW, chuck is a pretty much momentum track so you'd be surprised how well your 911 will move around it. I've video somewhere of Patrick Long driving a vintage 911 track car at around 1:55... humbling!!!

Chris - Blue painters tape okay for numbers? Or am I going to have to scramble and get vinyl for numbers? Also, do they have a shop where we can buy vinyl?

I'll be using painters tape. That's fine on the windows is OK. Just something the corner workers can use to identify the cars. there are going to be a lot of white GT3s here. :-)
