The rest it history and I still own that car, bought and sold a 991.2 rs I had for almost 3 years in the ownership as well.

I am not saying a scud is better than a 997.2 RS, I don't think one is better than the other, I think they are just different flavors of the best ice cream on the planet. But, if you drove both back to back then say 10 911's or ferrari's from the last 10 years....you would probably choose those 2 as tops tbh.
Scud is the dream garagemate for my RS. i'd love to drive one back to back with it.

They feel so BIG to me. But then I'm 5'7". I had a Challenge Stradale and a 430 spyder, and I want less real estate. I'm thinking in the back of my head about jettisoning my 991.1 GTS Cab for a Ferrari 296. Love that car.

'08 GR GT3 22k miles just hammered for $138K+fees.

Seller hit the lottery on this one! the 2 bidders at the end must love red.

MY08 tax!

My (now ex) car ships out Weds. Buyer had a PPI/compression done and it was 2% over delta variance across and stellar PPI otherwise.

Interesting that the buyer PPI'd the car after the auction ... congrats on the sale.

Seems consistent with many prior auctions this year. The 38k mile white one sold for $145k with fees, Doug's red one with 12k miles got bid to 145 with fees, and of course we had the white 6k mile one with PCCBs that set a record at $201k with fees. Sure, there have been some lower sales too, but usually with tracked cars, prior damage, repaint, or boring specs. I think 143k for this red one was right on the money. Low mileage, great spec, rare color.

BaT would've given him anything back if he backed out on it. So I'd guess its just peace of mind knowing what you're getting in lieu of flying to go lay eyes on it yourself.

Theres no contract in place after winning the auction with BaT. They take your $5k and its between you and the seller to work out the deal. BaT just says they 'expect you to complete the transaction if you win'.
If the buyer backs out for anything but a pretty major misrepresentation, BaT will ban the buyer and keep the $fees, but thats about it.

They sound great. But man are they big. I had a Stradale. Sold it earlier this year because it was simply just too big and hard to drive. Blind spots were huge. Front bumper overhang was huge. Sounded awesome and looked the business. I took some money off the table and bought a nice F355. some similar issues, but just felt more analogue and a manageable size. (and a manual trans...)

But I like small cars. 964's are the rest of my fleet. The 997 is as big a porsche as I am interested in...

Likewise, I have a twin to this and love the white with the white gold accent. Mine isn’t stock so probably worth $6.99…

"This year" is a long time ago in case you haven't noticed the last 997 GT3 sales on BAT and Pcarmarket, and other cars sitting for months not moving at silly prices. Even a few months ago was a totally different market. the 12k mile car had nearly half the mileage. i won't even go into the $200k+ sales as those are far removed from the current environment, as evidenced by the several recent sales of low mileage 997.2 GT3 auctions. But sure, $143k for this one was a screamer of a deal!!!111

The other thing that is puzzling is why some of you cheerleaders feel the need to report in and hype up each and every 997 GT3 auction on BAT, but more importantly, and even sillier, is the fact that while you're there hyping, also feel compelled to report on comments in this rennlist thread right in the auction comments while the auction is ongoing, or immediately after completion. The seller hasn't been paid for the car, and you all should have some tact and allow the transaction to conclude before you comment on valuations and other topics that could potentially spook the buyer. Moving on!

I'd venture to guess its because BAT is as much a social media site as it an auction site and why its eating the old fogies at barrett-jacksons for lunch in terms of growth. If you look at 90% of the commenters they have never bid on a car nor purchased a car from BAT, yet have thousands of comments and "likes" on those comments. Bring a Trailer is trying everything it can to bring the conversation from Rennlist to them, hence why they spend so much on content.

I guess one could ask why they go on BAT and read other peoples comments when they have no intention of buying or bidding on a car there.

I do have an auction question though, why is it that Carsandbids.com have so many EVs. I’ve seen some crazy good deals go down there this year while they get themselves established.

I didn't say it was a screamer of a deal. I said it was consistent with other sales of comparable cars this year, including some recent sales. I guess I view the prices at which actual buyers and sellers agreed to transact to be a better indicator of the market than what someone on Rennlist thinks they "should have" sold for. But that's just me.

My central argument was fairly self explanatory so i won't rehash it. I was hoping it would be a digestible concept for most.

This thread has too much nonsense. This is for sale thread, not a speculators and tire kickers’ pow wow. If you want to go buy a gt3, then go buy a gt3 because prices are what they are. Or not and move on.
