Default 997.1 GT3RS vs 991 GT3

I've been offered a deal to swap my 2007 GT3RS for a 2016 GT3 and toying with this idea.

What advice would the forum give me and if I would regret the swap.

Straight trade? Values should be close but the .1 will continue to appreciate and the 991 may not.

Yes virtually straight trade so money's as it stand now is not a factor. Its the fun thrill factor of living with a 991 which is easier to live with vs the rarity of a 997RS.

Or is the value of the RS now as good as it's likely to get?

I bought this car for the sheer driving experience it gives (RS), but at current values its going to turn into an investment and not enjoyed.

i wouldn't do it, but if you want a DD, the 991GT3 is a great DD, whereas the 997.1RS isn't.

what color combo is your GT3RS as well? if it's one of those bright colors, even more valuable

NO WAY IN HELL

991 GT3 are a dime a dozen
997 RS are pretty rare birds - any generation

even if $ for $ about same today (WIDELY DEPENDS on miles and condition). Nobody knows which direction the 997RS will go, but I can 100% guarantee the 991 GT3 are going nowhere but down. And I'll take that bet over and over again.

Now if you're looking for a daily and it's your only car... OK. I get it.

But if this is a weekend and special car for you? NOPE

Not one of the special colors , silver with black decals and silver wheels. The RS nor the 991 would be a DD, so it's a weekend ride.

But it's appealing to get into a new ride, but the RS is a great car to enjoy and hard to part with.

You have the rarest color combo of all of them.

Silver with orange was standard, you could special wishes the black accents (not cheap)

Of course I have a bias to silver (well Green too!)

I wouldn't recommend selling that silver/black RS.

You all are confirming what I have been thinking, and sometimes the desire to get into a new ride is appealing. I've also tried to gauge weather the RS will carry on appreciating in value or stay stable now. But as was mentioned earlier the 991 is fairly available but the 997RS is fairly rare.

This has been very helpful advice

Nice that you have silver wheels. Big fan of silver wheels on GT-Cars. How many 991 GT are in SA 100? 997 RS 10? Both are great cars but you will never get a RS like yours again.

agreed - green, orange you see a lot but silver/black is very rare.
if low miles, you can sell your car, then buy a 991 with money left over.

the person wanting to trade you straight up is likely doing it because there is much less financial risk for them.

we are biased, but i bet if you post this on the 991 GT3 forums, they'll say keep the 997.

It's a right hand drive with 18k km. Your estimate is pretty close as I think less than 20 RS's in the country and only one I know in this livery, so from that respect it's pretty special and it's even more amazing when you drive it
