BEWARE!!! Porsche GT3 VIN: WP0AC29947S792127
Hi
As a gesture to the Porsche community I will save you a few hundred dollars on performing a PPI on this specific car that is now for sale at Global Motorcars of Houston. The VIN number in question is: WP0AC29947S792127
The reason I am posting this is because the dealership that has it now is advertising it as a track free/no accident car which is BS. The car was spun 180 degrees and went into a wall backwards and wrecked and then sold wrecked to a builder in Texas. It carries a clean title because it was never reported.
I found the car listed online at a local Dodge dealership a few months ago in Texas where the seller traded it in for his Hellcat. The dealer was asking $72k and they ended up rejecting to take this car in on trade. I later figured out why.
I had the dealership pass my information along to the owner of the vehicle which then contacted me. I knew a little bit about the car prior to contacting him. At this time the price was appealing as I could use this for a track car.
After I talked to the original builder I found out the car spun 180 and went into a wall backwards on a track day. The frame was straightened and the quarter panels were replaced with RS quarters. They installed GT2 side skirts, a replica 7.2 deck, 7.2 front bumper (replica) and a 7.2 rear bumper. A CF sunroof delete was also installed.
From the looks of things, someone put a decent amount of money into it. It was a low option Black 997.1 GT3 that was hacked into an RS and painted Mexico Blue. Somewhere along the lines someone installed PCCB as well. The only reason I went ahead with a PPI was the seller reassured everything was done to perfection, etc.
The PPI came out to be an absolute nightmare. I found the shop off Rennlist and the owner told me to run. He said even for $40k he wouldn't even consider the car. Multiple panel has peeling paint, runs, chips, etc. Mechanically the car needed attention as well. Things weren't put together correctly and the rear quarter panels were rolled with channel locks.
There are signs of blue paint on random plastic parts as well and areas where there used to be GT3RS logos, well some clear came off with the decals.
I didn't even consider this car for a second after that phone call. I didn't want to post the car up but now that a dealership has a hold of it, just run. For $89k the car is a joke. It was in the high 60's low 70's when I looked at it. Even at that price I wouldn't consider it. It looks great in photos, no doubt.
I attached a few notes from the PPI report. The CEL was also on. Their ad also says 24k miles on the car, it has 34,xxx.
Although there are no over-revs there are quite a few videos online of this car doing donuts and burnouts. Just recently it was hit again on the passenger quarter panel. Buy at your own risk.

Personally, having a car that has been in an accident, this is absolutely how not to approach the situation. Do it right, or don't do it all.
+1 on doing any potential buyers a favor.

It's one thing to see a for sale car in a mess, but another to publicize it. I think the latter takes integrity and brotherhood. Thank you for making the community aware. There will be those who will come back here and paint you black, like couple months back with another GT3 in Georgia I think. What's right is right. Track cars are what they are - some immaculate and some pounded to an inch of their life. Either way, the buyer should know.

Might be worth noting that when the car had 18k miles they sold it once saying it had a new clutch and new master cylinder. 15k miles later it still says the same thing.
At least they removed the 'Never Tracked' and 'No Accidents/Damage' on the current ad sometime today at least.

I have seen this car parked at 1488 Collission for the last 18 months or so. I believe the owner drove it for a while after it had been "fixed" when a vendor to the shop backed into it last month. Had been wondering where it went. Now we know.

David did the RS conversion. I talked to him a bit and was told what he did to the car, it was sold off and some how ended up in Global Motors of Houston where Jeremy the owner of 1488 picked it up, he was also the one I intended to buy the car from.
If I recall correctly, the owner of 1488 is friends with Global Motors of Houston as well. I got note of this car when it was traded in for a Hellcat and the dealership (Grapevine Jeep/Dodge) didn't take the trade.
I personally assumed since the car would be in decent shape as it was owned by a few people in the bodyshop industry so I did the PPI on it.
Someone did back into the passenger quarter at his shop recently and I guess it was repaired and we see it presented here today.

They zip tied the rear quarter panels on?!?! How do you even do that?
