Default replacement TPMS sensors

am getting new rear tyres (MPSS) for my 7.2 GT3 fitted in Jan 16.

As the car will be nearly 6 years old, I thought I might as well change the TPMS sensors to avoid having to demount and remount the tyres later.

I know Porsche parts are super pricey. Any suggestions for alternatives or equivalent or higher quality?

Pretty certain Huf are OE provider. I put these in proactively last summer. No problems. Mine is 08 GT2. Not sure if any changes on 7.2 but if so, I'm sure they can be found here/

All of my aftermarket TPMS sensors in track wheels died. Will you be using these for the track? If so, Forgeline put a Corvette part in my new set that they claim can survive the abuse and temps.

I've read somewhere that HUF are OEM supplier .. found the right part at www.tpms.com which is cheaper than tirerack

BERU have read much more frequently as Porsche supplier

my car is rarely tracked.

I've always found the sensors annoying. Wouldn't bother. Always a pressure gauge with me.
Looks cool when you stop at the gas station to fill up and check the pressures at the same time. 😄😄

I actually like having them. Gives a warning with a leak. With our very low profile tires, a warning can keep from running on a deflating tire, esp if the driver is pushing his/her car. I had a screw in our former 997S' tire, and was able to pull into a stop, and have a tire shop come and put a plug in the tire, enough to get me home and replace the tire; without a spare, comforting to be able to get the 200 miles back home with the warning in time to stop. In all of our cars, except an older Jag, i have all the dash monitors set to constantly display the tire pressures.

The last thing I want to do is to brake for a fun corner with a rapidly deflating tire.

I like TPMS too .. I can see the change in pressure, so have some idea of the tyre's temperature

dumb question of the day.

i've got OEM TPMS on a spare set of OZ rims already installed.

once new tires are mounted, they should be good to go correct? or do i need durametric programming?

No Durametric needed. Just use the onboard computer to reset the TPMS using the stalk for changing info in the display on the instrument cluster.

Agree, I got a flat warning at the track at ~ 100 mph and about to be entering in a high load turn, reduced speed early and went straight to the pits. Bolt got in rear tire. Plugged it and back home with no drama. Also I use it as temp proxy, very convenient!
