997 GT3 price bubble bursting?

Guys, there was also a .2 GT3 in White in Canada for sale for quite some time. Had buckets in it already and the price was very fair...

Just buy GT4. There are more out there than Honda Civics. And they come with a warranty. For 6 figures. It's no Mezger, but those prices are over inflated by 30-40K. Believe me,I've looked! Whether that'll last is anyone's guess...

Mid engine vs rear engine. Guess the days of seeing a bunch of 7rs on track is almost over. Sure hope we see plenty of gt4 and 997gt3s for a long time.

I don't think the bubble for 997 GT3s is bursting. There are a few factors at play though that might make it seem that way. A) It's winter weather for most and the 997 GT3 can't be driven as intended. So, for driver-condition cars why buy if it's just going to sit under a cover for a few months unless it's a great deal? Which, there are certainly great deals and these cars are still changing hands. B) I've heard of (what would have been) 997 GT3 buyers opting for the GT4 due to warranty, new tech, etc. C) Hype of a manual 991.2 GT3 and 911 R, which makes people a little less eager to buy the 997 GT3 that was previously said to be the last manual GT3.
With that being said, all GT3s are still special cars that are always going to maintain some level of value. Buy it, enjoy it, and don't look back. It can be stressful to own a car that is perceived as "collectible." Nobody likes depreciating assets, but most people don't realize that even if you buy a 997 GT3 and drive the snot out of it you are still almost guaranteed to lose less money to depreciation than if you were to buy something like an R8, Viper, etc. and never drive it. Besides, you may love your GT3 so much that you never want to sell it. Then, who cares what it's worth to anybody else?
FWIW, I see no fewer GT3s at the track than I used to - now there are just more 991s (which are, for the most part, more expensive than a 997 so there is no money argument to be made here). What were once buyers of new 997s are opting for 991s because they are faster, have warranty, etc. With the exception of M3s and maybe (big maybe) Corvettes, I can't really think of any other cars that I see more older models than newer models of at DEs. It seems natural to see fewer 997s at the track.

Guys
Just took delivery of the 2011 GT3RS Wht/Red 11700 mile car that was for sale at Switchcars in Ohio (good guys)
I have been a F-car guy for years but wanted to give the Porsche a try. I must say, I am very impressed so far. The only thing I am going to change is add a Sharkwerks muffler bypass. Paid in the mid 160's if that helps you guys with current market. I look forward to meeting some of you in So Cal and online

Bubble appears to be alive and well (unless you're a buyer).
Demand continues to be the driver. Earlier this week, I saw the first '09 GT2 hit the market in many months. Owner asked and sold at $195k. Just a trip around the block under 10k miles and $ in the bank in 24 hrs. Confirmed with PCNA it was one of 23 sold in US market.
I'll hold on to mine cause it's more fun to drive and show than any car I've ever had...

I just posted about this car because one of the members in this thread is looking for a GT3 and is already in Canada. Not because I think market is weak.

Get side muffler bypass and PMNA muffler. No reason to keep the valve operation, especially when you get rid of the center.
