This is recognized by tuners, who change the throttle maps.
"By modifying these maps in the ECU calibration, throttle response is drastically improved and the “throttle delay” which is a common complaint among enthusiasts is eliminated."

I double clutch and rev match my 2011 997.2 GT3 since the day I picked it up at the factory. Never a problem, no delay compared to other cars.
For me, it's the essence of driving a manual, getting it just right is awesome. I learned on an open-wheel formula car with straight cut gears and no synchros - it won't go into gear without double clutch and rev match. It's artwork for me.
I'm quite good, according to Sam Bird (he of ex-F1 tester and current Formula E winner), some of the best heel/toe he's seen... which was far better than his feedback on my corners.
Take it to the dealer to have it checked out, or visit a fellow Rennlister to compare.

What's with dual clutches anyway? So 2003. Yeah. 2003. ZF developed the PDK over 12 years ago. Get a proper pneumatic sequential or a real seamless transmission - maybe the 991 will actually feel like a Porsche. This from someone who also owns a 991 and drove the wheels off a 991 GT3 numerous times.

My experience is the same as the OP - I found the 997.2 GT3 difficult to blip using the same timing / technique I had used with a E92 M3 and a B5 S4
I currently use a SprintBooster which I have found to help somewhat though I still prefer how my M3 worked when using the 'sport' throttle setting

There IS a delay. Some can't detect it because they've become accustomed to the e-gas systems/programs in the newer cars or simply adjust to it (subconsciously) quicker. I find it, imho, less noticeable in the 996 3, a little more in the 997 3, and even more so in the 991, but again this could just be in my head (the whole generational difference). Many of our clients don't even notice it or complain about it, however once we perform an ECU tune, one of the first things they say is, "wow, the throttle response is instant!"
The tune makes it very similar to old school vehicles that had a simple "uncontrolled/adjusted" cable linking the throttle to the engine, unlike the electronically controlled/fly-by-wire cars of today. (**** that makes me sound old)
PM if you have any more questions.
By the way, e-gas is responsible for what CJ mentioned, left foot brake and/or while applying throttle and it's a no go. Which we also disable with the correct ECU tune.

i'm having issues with my 2nd gear synchro so i have to double clutch. i don't really think about it when i'm driving, it just happens. when I rebuild my gearbox I plan to continue double clutching to prolong my synchro lifespan
