Default been down this road before.....

After having my CF vent trim warp three times (first two were under original warranty) I decided to change out to the OEM leather trim and have never regretted it nor looked back.

That's its I'm convinced. I'm forgetting to try gluing it down. No one else has seemed to be able to fix it. Going leather and calling it a day.

Get some small black rivets and put two at each centre end along with some high strength twin pack glue or high strength no-nails, it works but doesn't stop waviness.

Rivets! Wow thats a little aggressive! I'm not so hardcore. I'm forking out the cash for a leather swap.

Freshly installed carbon under CPO!!!! So last week I decided to bite the bullet and order the leather replacement parts. I called my regular service adviser at Champion Porsche to make the arrangements. I didn't even think of asking if it were covered under CPO since Porsche of Melbourne (amazing people by the way) who sold me the car last year with the issue already present said it was cosmetic and not covered. Without me even mentioning a word he said "wait your car is CPO, we'll cover it". They also covered the cup holder strip that was coming apart. I couldn't believe it.

What I think happened here is this; about 5 years ago I had a cpo issue at Champion involving alleged liquid damage to my PCM in my 08 Turbo Cab I had at the time. The unit fried and they would not cover it. I knew there was no liquid damage and it was BS. So I called Porsche North America and filed a complaint. Long story short they replaced the PCM under "goodwill" not warranty. Ever since then I have been getting the white glove treatment there on all my cars. I have a feeling they have flagged me as "hey take care of this guy before he calls corporate again" Not sure. Bottom line they did what I think was the right thing to do. Make their customer happy. Props to Champion Porsche.

I also learned that what will be covered under CPO can vary from dealer to dealer; clearly they have some of discretion. So if you have a CPO car with this issue I would try calling around.

Very cool. Now put the leather ones on the car and box those up in a cool dark place as originals for the car!!!

Yeah, it seems many of the CF interior bits for these cars don't hold up for ****. My center console is all cracked to hell. My cup holder flapper door is warped so as to be more curved than it should be. I'm glad I don't have this CF trim up under the windshield. That's a failure waiting to happen.

Anybody know part number for cup holder trim piece - the carbon came right off the other day. I could probably glue, but I think piece is a bit warped.

FWIW, I have a hairline crack in the clear coat in my rear console receptacle. It’s got red stitch in it. I did some digging and a there was one in the country from Porsche without the red stitch and it was $1100.00. Yep, $1100.

Ouch!

The carbon trim piece over the cup holder in mine looks like it’s come off the part behind it a little. Both appear to be in good shape so I’m going to remove the cup holder and look at it closer. It’s barely noticeable but I know it’s there.

Warped probably not right word. It’s slightly curved and there’s a line fracture.
Thankfully, Only other carbon is Center console, which has also separated from base and has some hairline cracks. May replace all with black leather. I’ll post up pics of cup holder piece later.
The entire piece came off. Must be same glue Used on coolant fittings.
