Default Windshield installed improperly!!!

I had my 2007 GT3 windshield replaced after road debris flew up and cracked the glass.
The repair was with Safelite. I was not present for the install but the job looks HORRIBLE! I have no idea what to tell them other than the job was either not done properly, the incorrect seal was used or both... See the photos attached
Any suggestions?

I would call Safelite, I would be very surprised if they didn't make it right. I have used them twice this year and both were very good experiences.

friend had a similar issue on his Audi this year. first install was using non-OEM windshield and had big gaps. called his insurance people and got it redone using OEM windshield. gaps were gone.

That looks bad.

1. Make sure you get good glass. I've been through that process with distorted glass.

2. Make sure all seals used are new. They reused your old seal and it looks bad.

3. Make sure you know what they are using to seal the glass to the window. There have been lots of horror stories where the car gets into an accident and the glass flies out of the car.

4. Listen for wind noise on the new installed windshield.

Good luck! It's a safety item so you won't have to fight hard to have it done again.

Looks like you'll be getting another windshield installed soon. What were they thinking?

I have the same problem with the seal in my .2 glass. I went with aftermarket because of price and the fact that the car is 95% track use thinking i might have to re-visit at any time. Next time will be oem for sure. I'm curious if your glass was made by FJ like mine?

Safelite here as well. Unbeknownst to me they replaced the glass with non-eom. I didn't know that was something I needed to ask for. I had wind noise and they came and repaired. Next time there's a crack/chip I will be asking for oem.

These cars deserve OEM on everything that can't be higher in performance.

I just did mine with OEM glass from dealer using a high end mobile glass guy and no problems. It cost $1,000 though.

I was wondering what it would have cost at safe lite but I was too nervous about something like what happened to you.

What did it cost?

The oem windshield came with a new seal already glued onto it.

I used OEM glass with Safelite for both of the windshields I had replaced. Both were quality jobs.
