Thumbs up 997RS a Rare Sight?

Porsche Club of Hong Kong event proves that 997 RS'es aren't rare. At all.

Nearly 380 cars showed up at the event, including 40x 997 GT3RS'es, 3x 4.0's and a GT2RS. This, in a city of 7 million with no racetracks of any kind...

I've seen that silver 993 GT2 in person, it's breathtaking.

Both the yellow and silver cars are in excellent shape. Shame we were missing the red car yesterday.

Ever been to a RSR DE at Mont Tremblant? There are something like 26 GT3's and RS' that are there for a track event. It is incredible, 2 years ago, there was a black 4.0 and 2 white 4.0's that were on track, along with the requisite cup car. Earlier this year, only a lonely white 4.0, along with the rest of the RS's and GT3s. Oh yeah, one chap did show up with a new GT America....pretty amazing. How many people in Montreal? Just saying............ it, too, is really awesome!

If the yellow 993 GT2 has a clutchless trans, it used to belong to a friend of mine who brought it in back in '98. License plate used to be HR 9399.

this is so funny
i used to live in hong kong
never owned a performance car there since you cannot ever get it out of 2nd gear
i moved back to the usa and went car crazy because of the pent up desire from living there quite a few years, and THE ROADS we can drive on here
...something we americans take for granted...people in Asia do not!!...live there a while and realize how lucky we are

great photos, the 993GT2 is what stands out for me. Maybe RSs are rare because they are all in HK!

Here you go. It's an F Series chassis that got stripped out for road rallies.
