well it IS HK.
you either have money or you dont ;-)

impressive sight indeed.

those not familiar with asia, the price in HK is 3-4x the price in USA ;-)
and then you pay another million or two for parking space
and another million or so for a prized lic plate such as 8888. who would be caught dead with a 444 plate lmao.

Prices aren't *that* bad. It's full list price, plus 100% tax, plus registration fees. I never hear anyone negotiating prices with official importers but grey market dealers usually offer discounts on cars brought in from Japan or Europe.

Just the thought of paying full retail gives me the shivers. I bought a C32 a dozen years ago through a parallel importer/dealer, still have it there, paid HK$600k so not too bad.

The trick to owning cars in HK is not to pay for residential parking. I never paid, my house had plenty of space. Use private club parking when out and about. Fill up on company dime. You can live relatively cheap in HK and still have a good life but the initial investment (club dues, housing cost, car cost) is steep.

HK taxis have them every now and then. HK Chinese like Japanese culture. The waving cat is a Japanese thing mainly.

We dream of the stateside car prices. The 7.2 RS landed was $380k. The 991 RS... that's a bucket of tears.

Yes it's the same car. Drove like a dream. Not necessarily more powerful than my 3.6 but everything feels 10-20% more direct. Lightness--can be felt.
