Would selling my .1 GT3 and getting a GT4 be a downgrade?

GT4 engine/exhaust noise has lots of volume but no character .. it's basically the same sound, but louder and louder.
Mezger engine/exhaust fizzes with character, volume, pitch and tone.
GT4 is mostly a monologue, Mezger is an orchestra

As others have said, keep the GT3 and add the GT4. Eight years ago, I had a similar decision to make, "sell my 993TT to buy the GT3?".
Mooty and others said to keep the 993 and add a GT3. At the time I didn't think I could afford that and sold the 993. It is my only car regret.
Keep the GT3 and add a GT4! 😀

Selling the GT3 to get a GT4? I don't think so, although bearing in mind that only about 2000 odd units of GT4's will be made before the new facelift 981 comes out, the GT4 makes a pretty persuasive case for itself to be included in your garage...$$ and space permitting.

I have the 997GT2 and can't wait for the arrival of my GT4 due next year!

Nether the less it felt underpowered after jumping out of the 4.0 and into the gt4.
Gt4 could be a great DD and gt2 weekend fun/track.

I have told my son, that if i ever win a lottery (not that I buy any tickets), I am going to get a Konnisegg and put it in my list of cars owned. One like Floyd Meriweather just bought for 4.5 million $. Pretty hard to one-up such a car as that.
I wish I had my first car, now to give to my son's toddler, for his first car. A 3/4 horsepower lawnmower engine powered "car", had a 2X4 with ropes for a steering rack, a pulley for a steering wheel. Painted brown, what fun we had puttering around the yard in it.
All the best.....

GT4 will be even better after a few mods - finding all the power it lost from the castration procedure - there should be at least 50HP out there, and fixing the gearbox.

spent a little time driving gt4, this is a great car. my first impression, fit like a glove, just like my 997. i do not have that view of the 991 gt.
buying today, 100k, gt3 or gt4, i would pick gt4 as a track toy. sell gt3 for a gt4? probably not.
the gt4 is really really good. sure, it doesn't have the mezger character, but in my 2 hours driving it, that's about the only real negative I can see (caveat no track time on it). yeah, the gear ratios need to be addressed
On track performance will be similar, pro for pro? gt3 probably would have edge is my guess, that ***-end traction is something...
porsche hit a win here.
I think one must have both. plus some air cooled. plus a pdks. that completes the set. :-)
