Looking good! A new MT with 5 lugs. Yes!

No fixed wing like all previous GT3/RS. They are starting to get my attention again.

My guess is GT5.

Default New 911 GT? GT5? Manual Transmission?

To me the car in the pic looks like the 991.2? Gen 1 had 5lugs and MT? So I guess gen 2 will be offered with the same 7speed hooked up to the new turbo engine. Anyone have any pics of this new GT/R? Sounds like a cool car but I doubt they would be driving around undisguised just before the launch of 991.2?

How can that be a 'GT' car? Front nose doesn't reach for the ground like the GT cars I'm familiar with (including the one in my garage). A pop-up wing? Maybe by 'GT' they mean like an Aston Martin. A GT cruiser. Not a track-ish car as we know them.

article says "So what are we looking at, exactly? Well, for starters, it's likely the upcoming facelifted version of the current 911. The current 991 generation has been on the market now for four years, so the 991.2"

It's too early to speculate on what a 991.2 GT3 looks like when we don't even have final details on the base 991.2 car.

Not sure I understand where the rumored GT5 slots? There is following model lineup offered for those wanting different levels of 911.......Carrera<Carrera S<Carrera GTS<GT3<GT3RS

The front looks too much like a cayman.

Probably is a 991.2 GT whatever special edition they're supposed to come up with. If you look at the tail lights the design is not the same as the current 991 models (more like the 997 chassis, which I actually like more).

Magazines said Porsche was going to come out with a more street friendly GT3 like model (no aero, narrow body with narrower wheels) and this is what it seems like. The rear bumper design looks nothing like the ordinary 991 (non-GT3 variants).

Based on all of the other photos out there of the 991.2, this looks like nothing more than a Carrera S. It is typical for Porsche to put bucket seats and roll bars in test cars.

I sincerely do hope they make the rumored N/A GT model with manual sans spoilers. Exactly what I have been waiting for...

based on photos used for this article, it appears the car pictured in the OP's link is the 991.2

http://www.wired.com/2015/07/porsche...-911%E2%80%A8/

last quote from that article: "At least the car will be available with a clutch pedal and a proper seven-speed manual."

When did seven speeds become "proper?"
