Default 997.1RS transmission mounts?

I now have my coolant pipes fixed, LSD rebuilt and transmission refreshed.

Time to put it all back together.

Looking to see what you folks think of transmission mount options? Stock? aftermarket? Pros? cons?

I have the wevo engine and Cantrell 60a transmission mounts and like the setup. A little bit more noise in the cabin from cup Shifter cables. The harder mounts will be worse for nvh

75A polyurethane mounts in mine. NVH def much worse--almost halfway to a cup car when it comes to flywheel chatter at idle / transmission noise at low speed. Handling is a big improvement: mid-corner shifts engage very positively.

A good tradeoff for track use in my case.

I have the 75a torque solution trans insert and RSS engine mount. Big improvement in shifting but the noise is there. Not really a big deal in a car that doesn't get daily driven.

Torque solution 95a durometer transmission mount bushings
RSS engine mounts
Cup shifter cables

You will feel (and hear) like you're at one with the drivetrain.

Torque Solutions bushings and Rennline tuneable engine mounts here. A little more NVH, but worth it.

Stock mount is good. I've tried the GMG and torque solution mounts and could tell no difference in shifting action. Just a bunch more noise.

I should have mentioned that the car is going back to showroom stock with only casual track days from here on in.
Given the noise of the harder tranny mount I will stick with stock.

Mooty doesn't mod his cars other than e88. That picture of that hippie cayman? It's all stickers. The wing is actually a sticker. So is the window net. It's really a showroom stock cayman r. :-)

I agree the hard durometer mounts are loud. Especially with the cup cables. The cantrell softer mounts are much firmer than stock with only a bit more NMH. At thunder hill there is the 11-12-13 sequence that I drove before and after transmission mounts, without I had a hell of a time on the 2-3 upshift. With the mounts the 2-3 hit much easier. So yeah, for me it made a little difference.

I might be last man standing with a 997.1RS not taking it back stock.

I concur with comments above...

Tq solutions 95a gear box nose mount
RSS engine mounts
Cup cables
Numeric shifter.

Minus - Noisier plus more increased vibs.
Plus- better body control in transition from drive train movement containment and much improved 2nd to 3rd shifts at high rpm and lateral loads

Still worth it for spirited road use.

Plus don't listen to mooty he is only interested in dealing with standard cars so has a vested interest in you completing the OEM refit.

I may be the last holdout on these items.

Stock motor mounts
Stock tranny mount (new 996 mount 5k miles ago)
Stock shifter
Stock cables.

I must just be too slow to need these upgrades
