Sonnen will get you carpet

Use Cayenne S rotors Stoptech makes them for 100/each - you can buy me beers to thank me later

I'm going to try and order the carpet shelf from Sonnen and see what happens. If the part goes on back order the Porsche supplier makes a single unit just for me

Now I've never heard of using Cayenne Stoptech rotors on a GT3 but if they're the same specs, it sounds like a smart buy. Please share more details

997.1 non-iron rotors and calipers same as 996 GT3 - head over to that forum and there is a massive thread about it and different people's sources.

You can buy them as low as 30/each for non slotted cast iron deals.

No-one has ever proven to me at least that in a 20 min DE session a $3k rotor set outperforms simple cast iron

i asked that question a while back and a few people said that they have run Turbo rears on non-RS GT3 without a problem.

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...ro-or-pfc.html

not sure if they are using rear rotors from the 997.1 or 997.2, though. Paver could probably answer that for you.

i'm likely going to go with AP Racing all around and just not think about this anymore. just need to check the pads to see if those should go too.

as a friend likes to remind me:
"Swap it all out. Don't play games. That is not a band aid whip."

I could use a stock carpet shelf for a 997.2 as well if there is plenty of them available. I was just going to order one from Porsche if I did not find one.

Give me money for those fancy AP rotors, Ill give you brand new rotors and show you how to chop 3 seconds off your lap at LS :-)

Basic Irons (Stoptech/Centric Cayenne S fronts, Turbo rears)
PFC08 pads
Best fluid you can get (Motul 660, RBF)
Better cooling (I would do this if I were still tracking GT3 - get better ducting would be huge)

but the rotors you give me won't look nearly as cool when i'm parked at Coffee & Cars meet up.

very fair point, and much higher credibility when telling the usual track day stories
