Default Flash vs CPO

After I had already ordered the Brombacher race exhaust system & the software flash, A wiser RL brother recommended against flashing my car while it was still on CPO. Would I be an idiot if I don't heed the advice? Anyway to quantify the risk? I hope to track the car about 6x before the CPO is up next April. Guess I'm fishing for the answer I want to hear. Thanks in advance for the good orderly direction.

Go for it, I would recommend Cobb's tune and there access port.

If you run into any issues with the car and they see the ECU has been flashed, be prepared to have the dealership try and void your CPO.

^ What's the benefit of flashing the ECU? Surely any gains would be marginal at best, unless work has been done on intake, heads, exhaust etc!

I should have mentioned that I've ordered the Brombacher race exhaust system as well.

I have to agree with this. I can not imagine an ECU reflash will make any difference for all but the top top tier 0.1% drivers. FWIW - I think the CPO is something of value to keep, and would put it off until then.

I asked my dealer when I was considering a flash. I was told not to do it, Porsche could void the CPO at their discretion. keep it stock until your warranty expires, then do what you want.

Cobb. You can tune or put stock at will. You will need a tune to take advantage of that race exhaust.
There is about 5-10% on the table,with the .2 cars especially with an uncorked exhaust. And it is noticeable on track. Don't bother for street.

the car from the factory is VERY good, all the mods we do on here are marginal and makes no real sense but that's a bit like the GT3/RS, they make no sense and we should all drive a Pirus.

We all like making these cars our own and in our minds 'better'!

Why do the race exhaust? It can void your warranty to.... If you do one do the other.

Do a search on here for the 'benefits' of a tune and exhaust, then make your mind up on the pitfalls etc.

Money probably better set aside and spent on a right-seat instructor.

You can flash it back, but P can tell that it has been flashed. I had my car in for CPO work and the first thing they did was send a download off to Atlanta to see if it had been flashed. It had not been, so I still have my CPO.

The exhaust will throw CEL without tune. How long til CPO expires versus when your inspection expires? You cannot have much CPO time left on a 2010.

Good points Scott. Inspection expires in Dec vs CPO which expires in April. I was doing good until Tim told me not to flash. Maybe he was concerned after he saw me drive

I have the same exhaust, but do not throw any codes. IF, not saying you will, you have a cam actuator failure you will want it covered by CPO.
