So I just spent a ridiculous amount of time comparing the styling of the 2010 997 GT3 to the 991 GT3. I can't really put my finger on it, but for some reason I find the 997 to be a bit better looking in the front, and much better looking in the rear.

The 997 GT3 just looks more 911 to me, if that makes any sense.

Both are head and shoulders above any other car (I can afford), but there is something about the 997. Because of where I posted this, I assume I am not alone. lol

996 and 997 very similar in the rear, an appropriate evolution of the design...991 has modernized the rear 2 steps ahead, almost like there should have been a 997.3 rear design that never came to fruition......in particular i don't like the clear tails. but as more 991s are on the road, i'm sure i will grow to appreciate the design more, overall it works. I'm sure a similar observation was made when going from 964 to 993

It does make sense to me, I prefer the look of the 997. I sold my 991 and went back to the 997. I like how much smaller the 997 is, rounder, and overall more 911 looking. I also prefer the more spartan interior, the interior of the 991 is shared now across the range and models, definitely more luxurious, but I prefer the simpler look.

Something about the buldgy headlights on the 991 dont do it for me. And they seem huge compared to a 997.

On the front side I have to agree the 997.2 looks much better. I like that the fog lights are exact width of the air inlets. And the lip stick part looks more blended with the cars lines.

On the butt side, despite the fact I love the 997 but the wide hips of the 991 look really nice. And I also do like the RS style wing on the 991, it's more aggressive compared to the one on 997. No bumperettes are a big plus as well.

997.1 then 991 in that order on looks for me. Don't care much for the .2 'update' even if it is for a purpose.
