Default 2 Post Lifts

I'm considering installing a 2 post lift in my garage ... or more likely having someone else do it. Combination of tinkering and storage of 3rd car in 2 car garage.

Anyone have experience-based recommendations on vendors? Thanks for advice.

If for storage, oil changes, etc...get a dedicated car stacker (drive up, drive off ramps). You do not want a car and its suspension dangling for months.

If you want an actual lift to do work on the car, lots of choices. I have a Mohawk Asymmetrical 7k two-post lift. Made in America, 8 feet tall, no cross bracing. Fits in tight areas. Most expensive option I found in my research.

+1 for Mohawk. I've had mine for 14 years, going strong, nary an issue, use it all the time, including this week:

How high are the ceilings in your garages? Have been considering a lift for a while - Will a standard 8 foot garage ceiling allow two P cars to be stacked? Thanks for your help.

I don't think it's likely. Most P-cars are 50" or higher. 2 P-cars would require at least 4" most space, and that's not accounting for any space between the 2 cars.

i'm happy with my Rotary 2 post lift.
but not sure how well it would work for long - term stacker storage.
Definitely pay the retailer for install also
unless you and 2 strong friends want a workout.

Do all 4 post lifts have the cars sitting on the tires? Do I have to take it off the lift to change the wheels/brakes?

Basically yes.

You have to choose between storage and repairs.

No. You can get two sliding jacks that attach to the tracks in the middle and jack the car up, to R&R wheels.

Had a 2 post Rotary asymmetrical that served me well. You will need at least a 12 foot ceiling. Also, be advised that you may not have enough room to park your beloved SUV at the same time.

Anyone have a 4 post 2 car lift? My garage has high ceilings, so plenty of top clearance, it is "longish" deep, but its narrow for a 2 car garage, I can get my gt3 + my cayenne (tight fit!) and my gt3 + my wife M235 and not bad... 2 car seems like it would get the posts out of middle of garage. I think i have height and depth, but need to check width. This is really for storage, have an air cooled itch bad. And if I can do 4 cars I'd have to fill that other spot with a dedicated track car LoL.

Has anybody bolted a 2 post lift to a post tension slab?

Need a Cayenne or long ramps to get your GT on it every time.

Nussbaum makes a hoist with ultra low arms, actually Porsche arms. It is made in the same country as our cars and can be sourced in NA.
Couldn't be happier with mine, no plate to drive over and 12' clearance.
You should have a reinforced concrete pad when installing a 2 post hoist.
