Rarity alone should make them a halo product. If they played their cards right, they can upcharge their ENTIRE lineup to GT price structures.
Can't agree more. The '72 RS was actually sold at a mere DM1,500 or 5% above the DM31,500 911S. When AG resuscitated the "RS" moniker in the 964 they were so apprehensive that the Clubsport version was sold cheaper in some markets as a "light spec" car. Then things flipped the other way and the pricing gap began to build up to the madness we all know today. The 991RS 50% more than a C2S and before options. That's a LOT of mixed signals to the market.

Brother, what are you smoking? Can I have some of that too?

I'm in the awestruck camp. The Spec is insanely fast and accelerates better than any cups this side of an R. It does struggle a bit in the twisties but that's only because it lacks big aero. I don't think the 1RS is in the same league... just can't be, from first hand experience.

Awesome place, miss going there in cars or bikes. Great country too, especially east Germany.

Other side of the earth now...

I don't know about the Left Coast, but I've been to two track events in the mid-Atlantic area in the last month (Summit Point and Watkins Glen) and each had at least three 991 Gt3s on track in the red group, with more in lower groups. I think that a goodly number of prior GT3 owners have moved over.

yes, interesting how the driver is beyond the available traction of the front tires. Reminds me of the video of the Porsche driver running up Pike's Peak, always sawing the steering wheel this way and that. I just can't understand the physics of so little and so abrupt slip angle of the front tires. Like driving on ice.

Not smooth at all, but incredibly good car control beyond the edge.

all the best...

If I were a passenger in the RUF i would throw up within the first mile, not to mention other body fluids I would leak out.

All the best..

Good car control though he overdrives the car - especially immediately after the pass. Looks like his heart rate was at about 200!

if you are referring to the 993, it's Sandro Ziegler, if you're referring to the RUF, none other than Stefan Roser (Ruf factory driver)... in the most iconic Porsche video ever...

bit off topic, but worth it... as you all know speed is relative, what's fast for some, seems slow to others... if you really want to redefine your perception of speed, and also have a whole lot of fun watching, you should be here:

there's nothing like it anywhere on the planet... if you're a gearhead and love to go fast or love to see others go fast, I promise you you will completely re-evaluate your perception of what fast is and what insanely fast is... flat open at 200+ with half a foot to spare off the curbs...

in the opening sequence the camera the guy is holding can't be much more than a foot from the rider's knee... just insane...
