Now on to the important questions. Once you have driven the 4.0, can you please share with us the differences between it and the speciale?

Has this 4.0 had the Resonance Tube fix, and/ or the coolant fittings welded or tapped? These are 2 of the campaign Porsche has suggested. I'm wondering how easy it'd be to have the coolant fix done while the getting the Resonance tube fix since the engine is already dropped. Has anyone else done this and/or used the SharkWerks coolant fittings?? Thanks for any information.

Mooty, any wisdom that can be bestowed?

flap is a TSB
polar send the vin to any dealer they will tell u if it's done
it's free and u MUST do it. or u will be very very sorry. pm me
u MUST do it

there's also an
oil galley TSB free ask dealer via ur vin. again MUST do
it

coolant pin and weld is ignored by Porsche as non existent. it's up to u. not cheap to do $4-5000 on average calif pricing. I did mine and God forvit nokng all
oem. my 4.0
is now $100,000 lol

Dealer ran VIN and no open campaigns came up. Verified at two separate dealers

My seal had been done but not the resonance tube. I AM going to do that and understand it's covered by Porsche. As far as the coolant fix, I'm still a bit confused. Would you sugg using a sharkwerks part or something else in place of OEM plastic fittings and risking disaster. Again, thank you for advice. Seems it would make sense to do that at same time as resonance tube since engine is already dropped. Still several grand if engine is already pulled? I know I just need to ask them but it's hard to trust anyone but a fellow 4.0'er

Peter, do you know if your coolant fittings were replacement or welded? It's not a Campaign but can cause major problems.

polar u are golden then

991gt3, u don't drop engine to do resonance tube.
if u do decline pin weld, I would use those two tubes from Alex in place of OEM. those are separate issues from the coolant pin welds.

u should talk to ur mechanic this is not something u chat
over Internet.

Very confident. From where the car was bought from all the cars needs and recalls were addressed already. I'm sure he can verify that

all dealers should know the two TSB mentioned above. if they dont know it by heart, u need a new dealer.

pinning and welding are ignored and not advised by dealer. it's your call.
