Awesome! Glad you are enjoying the car! The drive up to Cypress is a nice route to take for some turns, too.

Hey, thanks! Just noticed that you're local. We're doing a PCA drive on Saturday morning. You should come! PM me for details.

Well made video.

I haven't done a BBC since college. 6:15 in West Van is a little early. I'm going to try and be there tomorrow.

Great review & video; & you're in my backyard.

Congrats on the GT3, yes you're gonna love it!
Hope to see you @ future BBC's, Porsche Langley Coffee Cars (04/12, if the weather holds) & @ the track; this is where they really make sense & you really appreciate what these things can do. The Ridge Motiorsports Park & ORP are definitely worth the drive.

Enjoy....

Congrats on the new car !!!!

Very entertaining thread.

I am afraid to watch the video, for fear that the 997 GT3 will be the new car, that I cannot live without.

Ha ha sounds like a good strategy. Like your plate! With a 3.1 you may lose the Phatass but definitely gain a shove in the a$$.

Great video!

I could not help but laugh a bit on your comments about feel, especially since your experiences seem to be from the 997 upwards - have you driven the 911's from the previous 40+ years, especially the early ones? The road feel on the really early 911's is awesome and you can really feel the texture and what is happening at the front end. That feel varied though some the years but the real reduction (numbness), at least to me, started in the 996 and continued upwards. The GT3 targeted and thankfully improved on that early feel to bring it back and even improve on it.

You also mentioned the "legend" of the rear coming out, its still there and waiting to bite you! It's just way better hidden than on the earlier cars. On the really early cars, that oversteer was a tool that the really skilled drivers could use, but the problem was the lesser skilled drivers could be bitten realy hard. Your car has more traction, years of suspension design and electronic nannies but be careful, that beast is still under the covers!

Have fun and enjoy the car! Maybe I will see you at one of the local events, or watch for the Pcarworkshop BBQ in August - geeze I had better get on that....

Cheers,

Mike
