Realistically If you are looking to simplify and have only one vehicle, the do everything car for your home residence would be the 991RS. Automatic tranny daily driver, warranty, track day capable if need be.
Now, if you sell the GT2 and .2GT3 you will get top dollar but no longer have either car in the USA which is no big deal as you probably do not want to have these cars parked for long periods of time or the complication of owning multiple vehicles away from home....
Thus I suggest you get a GT4 cup car and ship it around the USA with a crew for arrive and drive track time and the odd race.
(you could also do this with mootys 996 or you can stick the front cage section in your 997.2GT3 )
I'd sell the gt2 as opposed to modding it for the track. since you already have the gt3 modded for the track that seems to be the least amount of work.
when you have to mod the car it's not the cost it's the time out of service that is the worst part for me. if you have to spend money to get the GT2 ready, it will take a few weeks or a few months or whatever and in that time you'll have nothing to drive while waiting for the new RS.
another opinion- a lot of people wait until their car is out of warranty to track it/abuse it/enjoy it. This is, to me quite backwards. if you wait until it's out of warranty then you have zero recourse for anything small and preventable that goes wrong, plus the spare factory parts are most available right away as there is a bigger supply in the first 24 months of the car's cycle. by the time a car is 5-8 years old the parts chain has dried up a ton and the relevance for dealers to carry the parts is almost non-existent. just a thought. enjoy your RS and explore the limits a bit when you get it!
Don't know how many Rennlisters had the experience of tracking a GT2.
Had a 996 GT3 and never missed it with my 997 GT2.
Have a 4.0 an will not track it
waiting for my 991 GT3 RS, but not sure if I will not get right back in my GT2.
I would never sell my 2, even had it Bernie-tized after I got "angry"
Tom likes value. Nice decision! Lucky baby in 997TT.

Thanks CJ. I had a very sad day as the GT2 is officially gone. It would have costed me closer to ~$20K to get the 2 where I wanted and ~$15K for duties to import the 2. The 3 is everything I need and want. Tried, tested, and true. Fell in love with it again at Sebring after driving the GT2 the week before at Thunderhill. These are all special cars and you can't go wrong.
Biggest issue is wife enforcing 1 toy at a time. Because I couldn't figure out GT3 or GT2 doesn't mean I could keep both.

Heya U - we had some fun at the Ridge many years ago at the end of the day. I think you were new to the Ridge and we had a couple of ad hoc lead/follow with your GT2 and my GT3. I had to look down at my gas pedal exiting the final turn onto the straight following you.
I am glad now I understand your experience! Truly intoxicating!

no idea,... I don't want to know. I'm heartbroken during Valentine's Day.
I whispered to my beloved GT2: "It's not you,... it's me!"

I will have to learn from you guys and start buying more white Porsches.
Everytime when anyone sees a blue Porsche in Vancouver they think it's mine.
My bad here. I was really looking forward to planning a ridge day with it. Car is ludicrous speed fast and still handles distinctively like a GT car.
I got pulled to the dark side and will take 991 GT3 RS. This car better be frickin' awesome. I will get that 997 GT2 back one day for much unfinished business. Hoping for the same car. It was perfect and everything I wanted.
