I just went through this and the math is simple, actually.

From what I can interpret. The GT2 has a 6800'rpm redline

The rev segment for type 3 and 4 are listed below.

There are three ignitions in one revolution and 120 revolutions in one second. This equates to 360 ignitions in one second. So a car with 110 ignitions in over rev will have spent 0.3 seconds in any individual over rev segment per second.

The car I'm looking at has spent 2.76 seconds in type 3 at >7200-7400
And 0.5 seconds in type 4 >7400-7900

The car your looking at has even less. From what I've learned; the telling tale is what engine hour did the over revs occur and what is the total current engine hours as this would help determine the potential for physical damage.

Hope my new found knowledge helps.

Leif

1. 8655. 317.100h
2. 3474. 317.100h
3. 994. 317.000h
4. 170. 317.000h
5. 0. 0
6. 0. 0

these are your numbers, my numbers are a higher by a factor of 4 except for range 4....I think i understand how to interpret, so this car im looking at may be more of a concern than yours.

I understand your point. I was meaning that your car with more than twice the mileage has proportionally better treatment overall per mile.

The posts I've researched have indicated that 1's and 2's happen and limited 3's and 4's are somewhat tolerable.

What's the total engine hour readout?
