Harris is the real deal. Great podcast, fortunately Rogan didn't talk much.....

Having spent 30+ years in management in corporate America, I can't help but wonder why Harris keeps "moving" from one job to another. I understand creative opportunities (the Freeman Thomas article in Pano is a good example of moving onward for creative opportunities) but wonder why Harris doesn't stay in one spot long...

Hoping he "lands" somewhere and continues to make great videos. In a world where everyone is suddenly an automotive "journalist", CH is the gold standard IMO.

FF is an amazing bargain as a lease. The depreciation (on paper) is low enough that you can drive it around for practically 80-100 bucks a day and it is practical to boot.

Really? a home equity loan to fund a car does not sound like he is having trouble? He admits to having an illness, one at least I share with him. Also the main issue is going into personal kitty to fund the videos, he can't keep doing that and I agree.

Has anyone found an audio only podcast?
I'd like to listen, but don't want to sit in front of a screen for 2+ hours.

thanks

He's essentially the best automotive journalist going. I hope he finds a marketing/management/social media pro to help him monetize. With his following I don't imagine it's unreasonable to think he can go much much further in reach and monetization.

Loadable through Itunes "Podcast" App if you've got an iphone, or you can stream it from their Feed on iTunes. I'm an avid Rogan listener on my commute, always has someone interesting on the show.

He also talks about not mixing personal and business finances. I'm sure he still pays himself and his one guy he talks about that basically does everything else for him. Beyond that sounds like a constant struggle.

He talked quite openly about how he also had to finance the 4.0L and couldn't even get approved through Porsche for the financing and ultimately after he checked that box and realized he couldn't comfortably afford the car that's when he got rid of it. He also stated that the money he gained on the 4.0L covered his losses on the FF.

The portion that really hit home for me was the talk about the "car portfolio"... How they don't have to all be expensive cars to really fit the need of the car guy. Having 6 cars myself (most of them junk but well worth it in my mind) It's something I personally adhere to but have never been able to put into words to others the manor he described.

Talk about the E46 M3 being quite possibly the best M3 ever reminded me how much I miss that darn car and how much of a mistake it was to sell it.

Great Interview. Really Enjoyed the interview.. Although it was a narrow subject (cars) they were able to discuss lots of topics which kept me entertained. Interested whether Rogan's interviews are usually that entertaining.

I thought Rogans analysis of Leno was spot on!

Agreed on both. I think many of us can relate to Chris Harris and his enthusiasm for cars. Also having met Leno a couple times, I've seen this in action. Someone comes up to him and starts talking cars, his eyes light up and he's super engaged. I watched him hunt around a parking lot for 15 mins one day on Mulholland looking for the driver of this old lotus parked on the side of the road to talk to him about it. Then, I watched someone come up to him and try to talk about entertainment/industry and he glazed over and just ignored them.

Really enjoyed the interview.

Feel the same way about Leno. Have no interest in Leno the entertainer, but appreicate him as a car guy who has the means to make all his car dreams come true and someone who enjoys talking cars with most anyone.
