Thanks, man. Is that becoz .1 is rawer and simpler? Never get a chance to try .2 yet.

98 C2S Artic Silver

Thanks man, I will keep it and drive it hard. Good suggestion!

Yes sir. Sharky even mentions on his website that the .1 is their favorite 997 platform.

The 3.8L engine has more advanced parts etc. to make it more "streetable." Meaning, more midrange torque.

The 3.6 revs faster, needs to be close to 4K rpm for it to be happy. The suspension is more raw and the car is more difficult to drive. The .2 is a great car, I put 16,000 miles on it. But once I drove the .1 for a day, I was done. Sold the .2, bought a .1 and pocketed the difference.

Hell, try the 996.2. That car tries to murder it's drivers.

Thanks for your advice again
I love my .1RS, however I bought a .1 non RS this year because I just cant resist them and the price point being 20k less then a RS makes it good value.
Very subtle car. Makes for a great daily 911.

20k spread? Try like 40-60

I do have a .1 (non rs) and love it so I am talking my book here but the discount it gets to the rest of the range makes it a sure fire bargain. I also find the front more aggressive than the .2 (the .2 is a little to smiley for me) and the rear wing seems less...dare I say it, ricey. Flows better.

If I were to upgrade it would be to a .2 rs or 4.0

And I think I would still try to keep this one.

4.0 is collection all the time. Some news said the 991 rs will carry a 4.0 engine, don't know what impact gonna happen to the 997 market. Maybe just like u said, no matter what just keep .1 and save money for .2 rs or 4.0 rs

My office is 30 min from home, and I usually drive gt3 to office once or twice a week. Every time I drive it I feel this is the only pleasure I have during the whole day, all hard work got paid. Just only one annoying thing with the car is the front lips got scratched every single time.

Agreed, chin spolier scrapes can be embarrassing in public.
I Install a flexi Cup lip to better handle it.
I take everything last minute on a side angle and own it every time with confidence like i meant to do it.

Taking the GT3 to work is just the best. That is why I own and love my .1GT3 non RS.

I like the more subtle subdued looks of the .1. ( if u can call it subdued w its flying taco wing vs the plain vanilla 997- ha ha). The performance dif for a 997.1 rs isn't worth the dollar dif and the loud colors and striping just attract unnecessary attention, especially from LEOs who already zone in on me out here in the boonies!

Have you installed louder exhaust, like sharky or GMG?

Finally put my sharky on this Sept ( was lurking in its box in the shop since spring just waiting to attack the neighborhood). Holy guacamole to go with my flying taco! So all is quiet for everyone within a mile or so for the winter. Ha ha

Gotta love the flying taco vs the racer boy gt3 labelled wing on the 3.2. PLUS no centerlocks to prompt your wheels to outrun your bad black taco!
