Default How much more is a CPO'd car worth?

So how much more is the same car worth if it has a CPO? Just wondering.

Depends on your tolerance for risk and length of coverage. A couple of k maybe.

I have seen dealers CPO cars for between $2500-$4000.
So the value when buying a car with CPO should be less than that IMO...

You can buy private party and CPO later, so it doesn't provide accretion in the market other than the cost of the CPO to take place.

I did it on mine, cheap insurance when buying a car at this price.

CPO depends on a few items. obviously the certification is one fee - $3k

before the car receives the certification, the 111 point check point has to be conducted. brakes, tires, etc. have to be inspected and pass Porsche spec.

Also, aftermarket parts can't be on the car during the certification.

thanks for the info, I assumed a dealer would add another $3K or so for the CPO. Probably the peace of mind would be worth it for me at that price.

So I can get a CPO for my car even though I've bought it from a non Porsche dealer? Seems odd, no?

No, you can't unless Porsche changed the CPO rules recently.

The only way you can get a CPO with a car is to buy it from an authorized Porsche dealer or from a private seller. (IIRC there is, or was, a $100 transfer fee.)

No no, I am saying you can have a dealer buy it from a private party and then have it CPO'd.

You will have to grease the service manager, but it depends on what its worth to you.

One thing is the cost to have the car CPO certified by a dealer, other thing is the cost to bring the car up to CPO spec... That can be quite a bit depending on the car!

If the car already has CPO and being sold by a private party, if anything is wrong with the car you could just take it to the dealer and they will fix it Plus any problems up to the end of CPO

not exactly the same thing, but in researching aftermarket warranties (Fidelity and the like), aftermarket warranty providers estimated a premium of $5K if the car was without CPO ('07 GT3 with 45K out of warranty seeking additional 4 yr 48K bumper-to-bumper coverage - i forget exact deductible, but somewhere in $500-$1000). this includes the fact that they were gonna make me jump through inspection hoops if out of warranty to reduce the risk they might be insuring an already present high-dollar problem e.g. RMS issue.

Was this a recent inquiry you had with Fidelity? Rumor has it they no longer warranty GT3's..
