If it was me I try repressurising the system again. Coolant level does drop if there are air bubbles in the system and temps go up as well. I go that route before tearing everything up. I change the thermostat to. Mike

Where is the thermostat? It was mentioned somewhere near radiator? Which one? Can I change it without dumping all the fluid?

See the fat hose on the left? there. This is from my car. #9 is the housing by the big fat pipe, #7 is the thermostat. Oh look you can see some of my welded inserts!

You will make a mess and introduce more air to the system. I would not touch this. I think your car is fine. If you do not smell coolant, you are not seeing further drops, and your temps are normal, move on. Bring it to Alex if you have concerns!

Thanks Spyrex - you the man.

I am leaving this and will just keep eye on temp gauge / water level to make sure nothing funky happens.

Sounds like a good idea.If you don't have overheat, fluid loss, etc If it was mine,I'd do exactly that.If You do have an issue and can't find a leak,I'd chedk the thermostat. It's 2 bolts and a couple of sensor plugs. It ain't brain surgery but you will lose coolant down to that level if you don't drain it first. We use restrictor washers instead of t-stats in everything from top fuel dragsters to my wife,s SUV.They are failsafe! SUMMIT,JEGS,ANY speed shop. Good luck, man.I'm about to embark on my nationwide tour in my new to me 06 Ford GT.11,600 miles on it and I've gotta change the water pump.I think I jinxed it by participating un this.I hope you have great luck with the Porsche....HAPPY HALLOWEEN
