Chris Harris Going Solo
http://www.autoblog.com/2014/10/14/c...hannel-videos/
"That segment, of course, is Chris Harris on Cars, the show starring one of Britain's most recognized automotive journalists. Known affectionately as Monkey, he's written for Autocar, Evo and Pistonheads.com, but reached most of us through Drive. And in his latest development, Harris has announced that he's taking his show onto its own dedicated YouTube channel. The first new free-to-air webisode is set to debut on November 12, so watch this space. In the meantime, we've included a playlist of Monkey's segments on Drive below for your enjoyment, so enjoy."

This is great news! Sucks for Drive... I only subscribed because of Harris.

+1 I'd had high hopes, but it does suck. Basically I've paid 30 bucks to see 3 Monkey videos.

The whole drive plus thing is a disaster. The only quality content on the former drive was Chris Harris. The other videos and the talk show were super amatuer and not that good. Plus Matt farah is pretty much just an obnoxious dick.
Anyway so they can't make any money via YouTube ads because the channel is free despite having a pretty large audience. But if you looked at the views the majority of them were for Chris Harris. So they decide to take a chance and lose probably 80% of their audience and go subscription. I didn't bother.
So what happens? The content outside of choc still sucks and they still can't get content produced at a rate that make people feel value in the cost. So Chris Harris bailed. And pissed off the others in the process because his was the only channel supporting the rest anyway.
It's all about the quality of the content.
Chris Harris will be fine. The others? Wouldn't lose sleep if another tuned or big muscle never got produced.

Thank goodness he is leaving. Drive + has been terrible IMO. We paying for content that is lower quality then when it was free, and I really enjoyed it when it was free. Great vids.

To be blunt... who cares? I have to agree Drive and Matt were a total waste of my time and grey matter- Chris needs a break into the big league, a 'Top Gear' like show but not in the same mix, as above, it wouldn't work with the comedy threesome but could work if seprate and it balance in top gears off season with a different format.
