I wanted to resurrect this thread; here we are 6 years from original post and was hoping to get more dialogue on the topic. I'm contemplating selling my 3RS to get into a 2RS. Loved the torque of my previous GT2 but love everything about the 3RS. Problem is I just like everything! Reason why I would do it is just to say I did and experience as much as I can, while I can.

After owning them all, I’d take a 3rs over a 2rs, BUT.........I’d take my experience of owning them all over any one of the 997 gt lineup. Life is short. My vote is to go after a 2rs, including if it means selling your 3rs. If you love the 2rs, great! If you miss your 3rs eventually, buy one back down the road. You won’t know until you try. And I don’t think you will know in a 5min test drive either. Ownership is different.

If you are asking me which I PERSONALLY would take, my vote is the NA version but my opinion is based on owning them both. And if you have an itch for the 2rs, I think you should scratch it. While it didn’t end up being my choice for LONG term ownership, I can appreciate it for what it is: one of the greatest/most unique 911’s Porsche has ever produced.
