I believe the 4 year service is all filters and spark plugs, brake fluid, oil and filter and a bumper to bumper inspection. Its a 7 hour job to perform.

A friend that is a master Porsche tech gave me that info.

Pads and rotors should be replaced as needed depending on wear.

+1. If the brake components are below 50% and the dealer is picking up the tab (strange), by all means have him do pads/rotors/nubs too.

Depending on miles, maybe also check radiators for debris and clean out the nose. Just did that and couldn't believe how much crap was in there.

The dealer is picking up the tab because the car was advertised as having had ALL of its service current. It will after Monday. Why do you find that 'strange'?

If brakes are in spec then the service is current. There is no time on pads/rotors. It is based on bad and rotor thickness or wear. If you can get brakes out of the deal bonus for you.

The service should include a brake fluid flush.

"Strange" because rotors/pads I wouldn't normally consider part of a 40k service. Brake fluid, maybe. But like I said, if the need to be replaced and someone is paying, go for it!

I am tks. Last pads were at 15. It now has 22. If they are down below 50% they're paying!

If the brakes have more than 25% you're wasting your time. If it's a nice car buy it and enjoy it, if not move on.
