Default Alcantara Steering Wheel Cleaner

I know this has been discussed AND I have gone on the Alcantara site but I have seen no practical solutions to eliminating the oil build up from sweaty palms. Anyone have real world solutions to the problem?

Sonax (206141) Upholstery and Alcantara Cleaner worked great for me... it was really dirty. Looks new other than that the material now is a bit fluffy. Shaved some of it off with a disposable razor but still need to get more of it off.

I've heard great things about the Sonax cleaner, it will also bring back matted Alcantara. The Alcantara Cleaner is also safe and effective on carpets, textiles & standard upholstered seating and interior surfaces. For more information Click Here.

+3. I've used Auto Glym Interior Shampoo with good results in conjunction with a firm suede brush and stick razor to remove clumps. Going to order the Sonax for next go round.

+1 on Auto Glym plus brush for cleaning. Use Leather Master Nubuck Eco-protector. Works well on Alcantara.

I've used Swissvax Alcanta Cleaner with good result. First brush with a soft toothbrush, then wipe it off with damp cotton cloth. Dont soak too much, leave to dry overnight. Had to repeat the process 3 times to get to near new look. Dont rub to strong, wet alcantara is fairly fragile.

Alcantara recommends a clean cloth (I use microfiber) soaked in water... Ring it our and start gently working the surface... It works...

The cleaners come in handy when there are oils/sweat in the fabric. Helps "freshen" it up.

add some lemon into the water that you use for cleaning the wheel .. think finger bowls and how they make your greasy hands clean
