Oh yes, another example of GMG doing what they do best. Hahahaha.

I trust orbit got it sorted out and that it's a heck of a car now.

Than to Orbit to get it fixed right with OEM 4.0 parts.

Very well documented and honest car, yes there is a story but in this case all good for a buyer, the car was hardly tracked maybe a day or 2. Previous owner is a super nice guy. Too nice probably to the people who did not do right by him. An enthusiast that hardly had a chance to enjoy the car.
A better drivers car than the real 4.0.

Too bad he had to let it go for such a low price.

Take this car to Orbit for PPI and you know everything there is to know about the car.
Thanks Peter. Just poking around but I do like cars with stories; no need to fear driving or modding. But not at this price.

I'd be interested if it got down below where I sold mine. Heck, seats and airbox alone likely cost owner $12k. Can't imagine the all-in cost.

Some people have yet to learn that highly modified examples do not command a premium, but the opposite in real World. If you want to get most of your money back you have to bring the car to stock and sell AM parts separately. Most buyers associate highly modified with raced, abused, tracked etc.
Is a car that has been properly driven better than a garage queen? Perhaps...yet the same people that preach this idea will always go for the lowest mileage, clean example they can buy if money is not an issue. Things go a lot differently than words written on an internet page when it's time to actually write the check.
The market for these cars is very small and the market for highly modified cars is even smaller.
Anyway...just my humble observation from watching the market. Rant over.

^^ That's right. It needs a buyer who would do at that stuff to an 3.8RS anyway or who loves it the way it is. But I think its reflected I the price, it would not take much to sell of parts to recoup $$ and end up with a cheap 4.0. Buying a stock RS now for 125-135 takes also $15K to make it right for the track.

Trakcar 3.1 is also a good deal at the moment for $145K with 3 sets of wheels. but no 4.0.....

Which just confirms that there are far more bubble wrappers than trackers....

as long as the new motor was built right and the car wasnt wadded up into a wall, I wouldn't see a problem with it. There are a good deal of RS' with new motors...as long as the history is documented go for it...that sounds like an epic car.

So what happened that car sat at GMG for 18 months and motor grenaded?
