Thanks for the info

Can I buy this as a package from a forum vendor?

The only challenge is finding a set.
the mkt is $3500 now if you find them.

Trying to think of a fixed back seat other than the GT2s.
recaro seats shoudl use recaro side mounting brackets. you can use recaro slider or cup car sliders at 2x the price. but it slides better. it does make a difference. costco lubricant or neiman marcus lubricant.

Don't risk your life for just looks bud, not worth it.
right on.

that said i am always a fan of oem, unfortunately these cgt seats cost close to 15% of my current car. thats just not logical.
if you cannot afford recaro, sparco, omp seats, just use the oem seat in the car. otherwise, you might as well just jump in front of a train. the result would be the same but train will finish you up for sure and much quicker too.

I'm hoping this will happen to our cars if we hold on to them.

Ed, how's your track days this year? When are you joining us at Ridge?

My car hasn't changed in value in almost 3 years.

No track days this year, doing a reno on a house we bought. Sold the trailer, will be looking for an enclosed one in the fall.

We have at least one documented case of the Rottec / Alibaba seats failing in an accident. Forget about the FIA certification and take a look at the designers and manufacturers of these seats and you'll soon realize they are suspect for anything other than office furniture.

The rest of this argument aside....if your shoulders didn't fit in the 996 GT3 seats well they won't fit in the Carrera GT / GT2 seats any different. I have the same problem but being short saves me a little bit...almost quit lifting shoulders and back for awhile to see if I'd fit any better...wasn't worth it

The shell from the pole position is the same shell used in both of these seats. I believe only from the belt loops up the seats are different. They are still going to pinch / push forward your shoulders in the same spot as the GT3 seats they just don't have big cosmetic ears at the top.

ill stick with FIA or oem. you guys scared the senses back into my head.

honestly when the seats first came out i was angry at my friend for installing them on his car, 5 years on i felt like if the company had been around that long they must be decent.. i.e safe

i will keep on the lookout for some oem 6gt3 buckets!

thanks fellas
