Well on one hand you can't improve perfection (aka a Porsche) but we use these cars so differently than the engineers perceive and bean counters can also scrounge a penny or two in the process. So if you like your car a lot (us GT3'ers do) and intend on keeping it then along our journey/ownership we've have learned of a few weaknesses when pushing/poking and by blowing stuff up... Then you pick up the pieces, figure stuff out, spend some money and get fixing Vs the factory we can actually spend more more money vs the factory... Stainless vs plastic pipes, better cam adjuster solutions, fancier pistons, cranks, lighter this and that... So when we do build a 3.9 we do so with all those fixes stuff in the process we fix. But going bigger and spending 2x the cost on more expensive pistons isn't worth it to to the factory. Neither are the extra machining/lightening or exotic oiling techniques that we can do to each car (no more than 30 ever) which doesn't make sense in terms of time/cost for like 5000 cars. It only make sense to us dummies

Haha ok now when I said Jamie has issues I'm not really sure where to put you mate. I love that you're left-footed and all but....

Dude I got snooker'd by Joe Rogan. I thought I could play pool from my Catholic Boarding School training but as much as he said he likes me for his 3.9RS he _reemed_ me on his table:

Ranger I would have to say that somewhere somehow you and I must surely be related. I guess we should go and look at ancestors dot com or family tree etc... eh? I feel bad for you hah!

Glad to see you are back up and running!
Thank you ever so much and hah the moment we put it on there (I mean the sticker) we were stoked. It's hidden, camo but still says don't mess with me! Your SoCal black 3.9 twin is here and he clearly has issues too with another unobtanium part

Back to the original question

Disease yes
Fun yes
Expensive yes
Bottomless yes - could apply to other of Jimmy's hobbies

Its a club with a lot of paid up members

Kind of like marriage and other activities, you don't know what your getting into until you join and then all the stories start

You're so determined to be different/conservative/controlled but it doesn't work

It's definitely a drug but when you've had the high you remember the hit...cycle repeats

Like Brittany sang " Oops I did it again....."

I should add that the owner of that black 3.9 gt3 from SoCal also has problems. Took away his stock deck lid for the 3.8rs wing and deck lid (ouch), got a 3.8rs intake as he wanted the dual inlet. Then he couldn't see out of the back and got the baron uprights... Then larger inlets and our unobatanium carbon air box too... That's just the rear of the car!
