I'm going to be selfish this time : F..K PDK! Make it MANUAL only!(it will keep its value a lot better that way)
No CLs either...

Perhaps they've been watching the positive reactions of BGB's 3.8 conversion....just sayin.

But lighter, more compact, more rigid, better balanced, with a nicer interior...and a 4 year warranty.

But there doesn't have to be. Plenty of recent examples in automobiledom of 'lower' model lines matching or bettering performance of more upmarket siblings, from the new Z28 compared to the Corvette, the BMW 1M when compared to the M3 (and the M5), C63 BS compared to the E63, on up to the Aston V12 Vantage compared to the DBS, and 458 Speciale to the F12. Hopefully a lightbulb has gone on at Porsche.

Better not be some inline 4 turbo from VW either...

Remember who WE have to deal with as an entire company.

And for it being Electric I'm more than willing to say yes. Should be KERS instead though!

PDK please (physical selfish reasons) and lower the dang seat so us tall guys can get legs under the steering wheel or let us bring wheel out closer to body. Oh need some 6 point harness seats Porsche...come on you're dropping the ball with 991 cars and Caymans and no 6 point harness seat!

Seriously...if I didn't have a boat and a few other hobby's I would get a Cayman PDK and send it over to BGB and have them install a Carrera GTS engine and do all the other cool suspension work but leave most/some the interior and blinkers, lower seat to fit my tall legs and extend steering column a few inches and have one of the coolest street track autoX sleeper cars around.

I thought my GTS was a keeper....but I'm so damn sick of center locks I am not even signing up for track events anymore. The money is would cost to do a 5 lug swap with extra wheels and all I might use that for something else.

Mdrums,you are correct!
Sorry...I was having a " I hate PDK taking over all of Porsche's fun models! "
When you put it in the broader spec of things,PDK makes sense!

Well I hope Porsche does not abandon the manual...but I have zero choice in my decision of why for PDK...so PDK for me. Since Porsche brought out PDK Porsche has given me a way to enjoy and drive my car at a high level on track like guys in a manual drive. This never could happen with the old Tipronic. With PDK I can compete on a level that my friends are on with manuals

I've been driving PDK since September 2008 and really enjoy it. PDK is truly a great transmission, yep it has it's quirks and actually there is a learning curve but I do get why guys want a manual too.

manuals need clutch jobs under warranty (possibly even 2).
clutch jobs are labour-intensive.
factory does not want to pay.
pdk cost them less - even though we pay extra for it.
pdk helps pass emissions.

that is the bottom line.
