Default Yoko AD08 for streets?

My GTS needs new street tires. I know about track tires but clueless on street tires.

Stock wheels are
8.5x19
11x19

Was going to get Michelin Super Sports but 305 still on back order. I can't wait any longer and need tires now. I was thinking of RS sizes 245/325 Super Sports. Tire rack says even though 325 min spec for wheel width is 11" they don't recommend it.

So..for stock 235/305 sizes..any one have experience with Yoko AD08?

Great tires. Lots of people run them in the BMW world. Buddy of mine ran them on the .2GT3 in the size you mentioned above. He loved it, street tire + occasional track.

^ Mike I have run them for years on my 6GT3 both street and track. You want the newer AD08R as it is better overall than the old AD08.

I loved those tires on my Cayman S. Great durability, stiff sidewalls. Excellent for both street and track.

I love them on my M3 too. There is a newer AD08R out now though. I will probably get that or MSS when the cups wear off, which is probably soon.

They were out of stock on Tuesday.....been waiting for months.

So you all think Michelin Pilot Super Sports or Yokohama AD08R...for street fun and maybe an autox...I'll use my NT01 for track.

I've not run Yoko AD08R. I do have have MPSS on my RS, I like them. I use for street, have not used on track or ax. Work well for aggressive canyon carving and are quiet on highway.

If you like the MPSS's, Call Eric or Tam over at Supreme Power Parts. They are a wholesale distributor for Michelin. I just installed a set of MPSS's today in those sizes.

Yep. Great street tire. Comparable to RE-11s.

I've been told by Discount tire that the AD08's are backordered for 2 months...same as Super sports.
My current Bridgestone RE-11's are done & I wanted to try the AD08's, but it's back to the RE-11 which is a great street & good track tire. I'd take either over the Super Sports which I believe are a less extreme tire.
You could also try the Hankook RS-3's - read some great reviews on Rennlist.

The new ADO8 compound fixed their cold/wet weather problems (compared to the RE11, which used to dominate in these conditions, but lacked the same dry grip as the AD08). Great tire as is the RE11.
