Default Done modding for now...my "CUP ESQ"

Since getting the car at the end of last year, I have finally finished with all the modding...well maybe not all but for the time being. I absolutely love the cup car look so naturally, having a white car I had to make it a cup car look. I bought a Getty design decklid and wing assembly to minimize costs. For anyone interested, make sure you have a top notch body shop for fit and finish, they do need quite a bit of work.

The shop I used was Europros in Gaithersburg MD. I was referred by quite a few enthusiasts and indy Porsche shops. They do a lot of work on cup cars, as well as Porsche restorations. They're currently fully restoring a real 73RS! The owner Jack and his team had to work on making the decklid perfect through priming and filling in all the pin-size spots throughout (I couldn't even tell but these guys are bigger perfectionist than me!). The paint was matched perfectly and quality of the finish was top notch. Even the fitment was perfect with Jack spending extra time to ensure all the gaps were even like OEM, and concourse quality.

I still have the PORSCHE decal to put on this weekend, add a gurney lip for the wing and eventually paint my wheels gold. Enough rambling...on to the pics.

Looks great
I also had issues with my Getty decklid

In essence you pay at least double for a quality fitting bolt on decklid OR spend all the extra on body shop labor to make the Getty fit

Beautiful. Love NB GT3's with OEM Cup car or well done after market Cup car look parts. Did you do the air intake too? Please post some more pic's of the underside of the deck lid. IMO, np if you leave your silver wheels as is.

Looks amazing. Was toying with the same idea so I'm glad to see the finished product. Did you get a cup splitter as well to balance out the aerodynamics? How much work was put into actual fitment?

thanks I am very happy with the end result, even with the extra labor work.

appreciate it...as for the hydrant, i needed a quick wash, no where else to park for the hose to reach. don't worry im not one of those people that park in front of hydrants

Well according to my shop, it did need quite a bit. I would suggest to find a reputable shop. Europros had done many of these cup car wing conversions. Plus they work on many high end cars like Porsches, Audi, Merc, BMW...they are very familiar with Porsches of all eras.

thanks. i didn't get the air intake for it. Jack did get the vents covered with the mesh he custom made. All my parts from the stock GT3 decklid was taken off and put on to the cup decklid. It sounds relatively straightforward but Jack had to make some adjustments with the latch and drilled holes for the bolts. Also the fitment wasn't great at first with the right side not flush with the tail light. This is where Jack really had to play around and shift or drill holes to make the fitment perfectly flush. Lotta work!

I will post pics of the underside shortly.
