Default To heat cycle or not?

Dear Rennlisters,

I am buying some new Nitto NT01, yes the proper size for a narrow body that are now available.

My question is whether to have the tires heat cycled from the retailer or not bother.? I've read in many places if you don't have the tires heat cycled before use, you need or should do a few laps to temperature and then let the tires cool and settle over night until you use them again. I personally don't have another set of tires besides my street tires to sit out the rest of the day to wait for the tires to settle.. The last several sets I ordered heat cycled..

Is there a new school of thought where this is no longer required, what do you experts feel I should do?

Thanks very much

I know what is written.

I have heat cycled from TR, heat cycled myself and let sit, and not heat cycled. I have found no difference so I no longer do it. Just me.

I too have gotten the tires heat cycled by the vendor and have not got them heat cycled...didn't make any difference.

Never heat cycled nt01 but did other tires to compared and couldn't tell a difference.

For me I do drive around a few hundred miles on nt01 before I hit the track and I drive the first 2 sessions from 6/10th to 8/10's to scrub them in.

Thanks everyone for your insight.

I won't be buying the heat cycle service.. I am however upset to hear the rears are on back order.. Do you have an expected delivery date? As I need them for watkins glen in 3 weeks..

Tried to order the Nitto's today and was informed they are back ordered with no information on possible delivery date.. Ugh.

Do I buy Hoosiers or do I buy two R888 for the rear as the fronts still have some life in them, and wait for the Nitto's to become available to order 4?

Thanks
