Summit Point Main with ACNA. Still running bone stock including PS2s for now. It is kind of fun and liberating to literally arrive and drive rather than fuss with all the trappings of track days. I am not yet convinced that my fun factor goes up by any tremendous amount if I reduce lap times by a couple seconds with tires and....and....and..... It is such a slippery slope and the value of the car has increased so much since I purchased it that I am wondering if I need to leave it alone for potentially collector statusing.

since you even mentioned the appreciating price of your car, i would suggest removing the ceramics, boxing them for the future with the pads, and then running irons with track day pads

track day mods that are easily reversible and will MAJORLY improve track day experience:
Toe links and track alignment.
Track set of wheels/tires (RA1, NT01, R6...).
Bolt-in rear rollbar with 6 point harnesses.
Track seat if car does not already have the Porsche track seat.

For the money, the 997.RS is an exceptional car for road and track fun.

They are increasing in value but do not let that deter you from having
fun on the track as these things excel on the track which is why they are so great to begin with.

With a set of sticky tires the grip can become additive on the track. That is where the slippy slope begins.
It really is fun and you can either go back to 100% street use or jump in and do a set of toe links and a LSD and hit the track like a bad habit....

I now leave my RS in Florida and only get to use it 2 months a year for grocery getting and Sebring track events.
I miss it in between those visits as it is fun on the street as a 911 hot rod, but alas I have been collecting 993s to help fill the void.

Soon a racecar will replace it however....

I'm back and shiny side is still shiny. It was a good event. PCA was at the Jefferson circuit while i was with ACNA on Main. I didn't realize until I got there that PCA was there. They tried to tell me at the gate to stay straight when I pulled in as they assumed I was with PCA.

I was relearning this track from my last visit 8-9 years ago and I am certainly still learning the car. Ran on PS2s and I got my times down steadily over 9 sessions but I think I really need better tires to do much more. It is still quite fun to work with the grip I had and continue learn some of the handling nuances of the GT3RS. This was my 3rd event in this car.

I have not uploaded any of my GoPro video yet but it is fairly boring anyway.

It was nice meeting you at Summit Pt. That car is definetly a head turner. I'll bring the GT3 to my next event as the E36 goes in for a cage and full suspension upgrades the next few months.

Here is a cool pic of us at the starting grid. I'm sandwiched between a GT3 RS and an R8 V10.....wouldn't have it any other way.

I was at the PCA event. Saw your car zooming by as I watched from Jefferson. Looked good seeing that orange blur flying by. I also had a blast on Jefferson. My first time experiencing what my RS can do in its natural environment. I was in awe at how hard I could push it yet how composed it remained as lap times improved. Had so much fun and look forward to another event. Hope to see you around.
