Default Tire pressures

What tire pressures are you running. With my '07 GT3 and also my '09 C2S the recommended pressures (printed on the door sticker) were 37psi front and 44 psi rear. I noticed on my 2011 GT3 the door placard says 30 front and 31 rear. I know in recent years Porsche has reduced the tire pressures for a softer ride but I think this may be too soft as a baseline pressure.

OK I agree I had to go back in my memory to remember what the pressures on my GT3 997.1 was. So what I am gathering is that closer to the placard of 30/31 front to rear is a good start.

For LVDell 37/44 were the pressures on my '09 997 and I thought it was the same on my '07 GT3 long gone but not forgotten. As I stated above I will set them at 30/31 as a start unless others with 997.2 GT3's chime in. Tires right now are Michelin cups but I will also run Michelin Super sports on a second set of wheels.

My 2007 GT3 says front 29 rear 31 for MPSC tires. When i ran MPSC, thats the pressures i ran.

With my Pilot Super Sports, Im running front 31, rear 34 cold. In spirited canyon driving that heats up to hot pressures of front 34 rear 37/38

Id be interested to see what others running super sports are using

I agree as well, the numbers are a bit soft. I run mine a few pounds higher. I prefer 36-38 on track so I typically shoot for 34-36 on street.

Mpss 29/33 cold for street.

I'm still sorting track temps I ended around 32/35 hot on nt01 and felt pretty good

Btw my 997.2 specd 37/44 cold. Was pretty harsh.

For street with the MPSS I run 33/36 cold so they typically go up to about 36/40 hot... Basically I set mine mid way between what our placard says for Cups and what the turbo placard asks for the street tyres it runs of similar size....

I loathe bogus numbers! They insult my intelligence.

Carrera S numbers actually were 33/39 2005-08 and 34/39 09-12...except the Carrera GTS and C4s were 34/37. These car came with different tires and a different suspension than GT3. That's the reason behind the pressure differences between these cars.

Hard to say as a yoyo between two sets of wheels for street/wet track and dry track... My current set have done about 2500 track kms and probably another 2500 km of street driving...

My outer shoulders are spent from track use but the centre and inner edge of the tyres is okay... On track I run them 38/39 hot...
