They are still getting robbed. Even the guys who have cars built by Riley, Katech and a few others, they are getting robbed.

Then you could say the same for all of the guys paying 250k for cup cars. Because some of the ones I'm talking about are faster.

2010-2012 GT3 Porsches with R tires are in the 2:17 range.

2008+GT2 are even lower lap times again.

No question the vette is strong and for half the money of the 911.

But have you ever tried living with a Viper or a Vette?

My GT3 has driven across country twice, raced a week long tarmac rally three times and still pounds tracks days whenever possible. Been very comfortable doing all these things in the car. Couldnt say that about my Viper.... But then again, the GT3 is twice the price....
I believe those times are a bit stretched.....but you should have seen the fish I caught!...LOL

Well driven 2010-11 GT3RS with major mods on shaved RA1's do 2:21-24...2007 GT3 on same tires does 2:24-25....2007 GT3 gutted on Hoosiers driven by a pro does 2:19-20.

20-10-2011 GT3 with major suspension mods and r-comps or R6's does 2:20-22's

And a well driven, gutted 02 Boxster S on R comps with a trick suspension, driven by a pro can do a 2:31, while equaling the smiles/mile of a Vette or GT3. :-)

I kid because I can I have a 'ole '00 Boxster S (all stock). She gets around the track very well. Fun car to be sure.

^^^ I can take the kidding. As you inferred, us Boxster owners are used to it. A lot of 911 folks don't know what they are missing by their reticence to be seen in a "hairdresser car". :-).

My street Porsche is an 01 996 TT with a PSS10 suspension. It is a beast, but at least for my skill level, it doesn't give me the handling confidence of my hairdresser car. :-)

Well, I was kinda using people's personal bests... lol

That being said, Eddie's stock 2011RS on R tires hit 2:17 if i recall correctly...
And Erik's old orange RS could see 2:22 on R tires i believe... not gutted or seriously modded by any means.

Given the caliber of the driver in the Vette doing 2:23... the drivers who hit the times i posted above is a decent comparo.

Given an equal driver of the tested vette , a stock 2010-2011RS can see sub 2:20s on R tires and 07-08 GT3 on R tires can see 2:23...

Now, the vette was on run flats as i recall... so on R tires that would be good enough to see sub 2:20s like the 2010-2011RS?
