Used racing tires?

Used racing tires?
Through my research I heard that used racing tires (slicks but maybe DOT streetable racing as well?) are available...or at least they were as of a few years ago.
Does anybody have any recommendations or contacts on where these would be available?
Thank you.

as long as you buy from someone reputable good.
otherwise consider what you are really saving vs what the costs are of a failure or a set of tires that are HC out.
Before I bought used slicks I bought tires like the toyo ra1. New tires, and safety are priceless.
Just my 2 cents
good luck

"dead" slicks that have been HC out will randomly pop with minimal warning.
Unless you know who you are buying from and have a comprehensive knowledge of the full life of the slick prior to you buying it (how many laps, what times did it do, what pressures, everything), don't touch it. If you want to play with slicks, set aside $5k, buy 3 sets and try them out. You will spend 1 set just reprogramming your brain to the added grip, the 2nd set will be driving to the new limits and the 3rd set you will actually set real times with.

agreed. ^ and stujelly's opinion.
tyres are serious business.
you need to have personally done the mileage on them imo, to really know exactly where they are at.
izzone and trackcar may still have some n.o.s toyo ra-1's to suit 7.2s'.
