Default 19 inch tires - any opinions on Nitto NT05s for RS?

I was doing a little reading on some reviews on the corvette forums and planet 9 about the Nitto NT05s and found mostly positive reviews. I like the fact that the rears come in 335 too and I can get a set of 4 tires for a touch for $1,000. Any thoughts/experience on the tires? These would be my street driven tires that would not see much track time.

I had them on my e92 M3 and did not like them. Not good wet or dry even as a street tire. I love the NT01s on both my RS and erstwhile M3. Need 18" wheels.

Interesting...wish Hankook made a 325 or 335 RS3.

I've used NT05 before. For the street, they are fine. For the track, they are not good. I would stick with mpss if you want street/track tire.

I run the NT-05 as street tires and track rain tires. They handle track use very well, little tire wear. They are a street tire so the grip is not like the NT-01s.
Great value.

Would the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11s be a better alternative to the NT05s and MPSS?

Yes. Also Yokohama Ad08.

Re11 is a heavy tire. Why do you not want MPSS?

RE11 is an excellent street tire. I've run it on my E90M3 for a few years now. Very good wet and cold traction, works well in Texas. Handles track use fairly well.

Had the MPSSs on my E92 M3 and wasn't overly impressed. I only plan on putting 2 BMW CCA DE track days on the tires (late Dec event where it'll be very cold).

My car came with Pirelli P Zero. At around 14,000 street miles they still have plenty of tread but are hard as rocks and slippery.

I need new tires and was going to get MPSS. My wife's Panamera just got MPSS and they seem good.

I won't be tracking these MPSS as I have track wheels with Nitto NT01 for that but still want a nice grippy tire for the street.
