For home use - AC hydraulic jack is ideal
Can be difficult to source but I found the Canadian importer to be a reliable source
Jack: http://www.ac-hydraulic.dk/en/produc...jacks/dk13hlq/

Canadian importer:

Jack stands - guys love the jack point jack stands - they do not work with AC hydraulic jack in my experience - excellent product with the correct jack

A flat top "traditional" jack stand is nice and esco brand is widely used and available

Track jack + jack point jack stands + left in trailer = awesome

AC hydraulic jack + esco flat top jack stands + left in garage = awesome

I was not there :-(
I did not make any T2 events this year for scheduling reasons and I hear they are very popular (crowded)
And there is an event tomorrow that is limited to 30 participants and open track (my kind of event) that I cannot make either...

My season is done for the year.

I've found them fine for getting under the front or rear. I only use 1 pair, so I get a little bit of tilt lift too vs. putting i up on 4 stands. I'm paranoid about getting under cars and the jackpoint are the first stands i've used that feel 'safe' (to me).

I make due with a cheap harbor freight jack. When it breaks I'll replace it with an OTC or something better.

I just want a good jack that has a low profile, far reach and lifts nice and high!

I agree that the method described is the best method, but at the end of the day without a central jacking point up front you cant get the front higher than the initial side jack lift.... Does not matter if its a Ford, Porsche, or McLaren... If you are working under the car its nice to have more space!
AC hydraulic is not hype, they work better than ANY jack or jack stands. the prob is cost and they are really heavy. but some of the alum jack RACKS if you try to go high. even the super $$ one's.

the other brand is http://www.brunnhoelzl.com/low_profile_jacks.html
wonderful and very light.
but AC is still better. got both, i take AC whenever i can.

yes, you will have to lift 2x without central jack pad.

e30m3 buzzer was not bad. much like S2000. should have kept mine.
the american mkt e36m3 is ok., nothing to write home about. reliable yes, pedestrian, yes.... certainly no one will be restoring one in 2020.
after that...... well.... i much rather drive my dually. and i dont mean that as facetious. i do prefer GMC duramax over M3.
no offense, but i will always take GT3 over M3. kids... well they ride with mommy. daddy has to have gt3, so mommy provides rear seats.

thats a fine opinion and one shared by lots of people. To call them garbage though is one helluva stretch though.

^ my language skills are blk and white. so you are right, they are not garbage, just not as good to ME for MY use. decent DD but i was a little fed up with them when i ran them hard. i have NEVER EVER had a car disable on me on street except my M3's. two of them overheated. those who know me, i have no patience.

also E36, E46 and E90 on track, no mod, they overheated in CA weather.

maybe it's just ME who has no luck with them. BMW probably thinks i am garbage.
