Being brand new to the area, it was great to meet all of you. Until now the gt3 was the only thing familiar to me.
Tye: the tunnel was the highlight at the end...I wish I recorded that sound.
Sharkwerks: great hospitality! I shall be a customer very shortly...

sharky gracious provide kk donuts. I think I ate a whole box... coffee helped wash them down.
secret chef is Armando aka arctic fox. money manager turned chef... he will open shop soon. if u haven't tried his morning bun.... well I guess u haven't had that morning sex experience... and those strange cube shaped thing... make them FOUR times bigger next time. it looks greedy of me when I took 8. but if bigger I only need two.
half way stuffing myself, nakaisan of RWB showed up snd shook my hand. wow.... pretty cool. he will be doing his first RS 4.0 wide body RWB with shaft keys 5.6L conversion. I'll post it when he starts.
drive to Alice was orderly as we blocked four lanes of hwy with CHP helicopter escort. u will c on news tonight.
up skyline to Alice. good scenery. no crazy driving, didn't hit deers or ambutate mt fellow cyclists. only scared with into cow tipping off clip less cleats. they will survive to win TdF.
Alice omelette was much needed with bacon as my choked trial was dangerously low. the donuts and fatty bacon will help.
spent all my money on cars, empty wallet had to have Alex spot me for lunch.... did I say Alex drives slow??? brunch turned into lunch.....
two hours to go 29 miles.....amd he had a fast car... imagine him in Prius... we b having midnight snack when we hit Alice's.
well Alex of sharkwerks spotted my bill and picked the whole tab... of course he moonlight for google, at $1000+ must feel good...
but that's a great gesture despite him outranking zuckleberg on Forbes. T H A N K Y O U.
btw, next weekends brunch is at French lingerie ( is that a typo or it's it).... I'm still poor and Alex will be there. we should join him
home now... making my kid wash the filthy car while I chill in hot tub to recover from my morning bike ride withZf1crazydriver. showed up to challenge me with no cleats..... crazy is he.
well what a day putting names to faces. great time.
see u all at French lingerie next Saturday. we meet at 8 am sharkeys ok
btw, we all signed waiver at sharkeys. if u ate, u are obligated for 3.8 build.
wife nearing... I need to go... she can't see all this....
mooty is a myth. he ain't real

Great time at Sharkwerks. That is one clean shop. My wife literally confiscated my credit cards while @ the shop. Made the mistake of showing live examples of my "wish" list.....

Sorry we couldn't stay with the gang for lunch. We have grandparent duty this afternoon/night, so need to get over to Pleasanton.
Thanks to Sharky for hosting this, and to bmwtye and mooty for instigating it (and for inviting the pastry chef, wonderful!). Good to see "old" friends again, and to meet new friends.

When the doors to the business open next year, I hope that this event at SharkWerks will prove to have been auspicious. I see customer service as essential. A croissant tastes 10 times better if it's sold with a friendly smile. The bypass on my RS sounded 10 times better for that same reason.

Armando, ARSICAULT bakery, ArcticGT3 (Triple Ar!)
PS. So it sounds like we're doing that again next Saturday?
PPS. Arsicault was my great-grandfather's last name, and the name of his bakery. Here's a delivery cart that I will bring over here from France:

Armando's pastry area was incredible. Just like sharkwerks there is some talent there too!!
The brioche was the best we have ever had. Could only imagine what the cookies tasted like ...

Big thank you to Sharkwerks for the hospitality and to everyone that helped put this all together. It was great putting some faces to the names and seeing some really cool cars. Looking forward to the next one when I can hopefully join the drive.

What a great day! I really had missed this type of gathering. I got spoiled living in LA where there are a crazy amount of enthusiasts with a passion for cars. Guess I just had to look a little harder to find the right group of people.
Thank you Alex for hosting the morning. You are a shining example of what a great shop should be. I've dealt with so many in LA and I don't think one has your approachability and level of helpfulness. I now need to find an excuse to give you some of my money. Shouldn't be hard
Armando: I signed up for your mailing list. I tried those delicious almond cubes at the last Thunderhill event and was hooked. I think I ate about 6 while no one was looking. To try them fresh this morning was divine. Can't wait to patronize your store the moment you open. I will have to obviously add a workout routine so I can still fit in the buckets.
Thanks to all the rest who showed up and made this a day I won't soon forget.

disclaimer- just back home and using my iphone (whilst pretending to watch a movie with the wife- it's not very good anyways) so pardon any typos or whatnot....
Folks, I'm so bloomin' grateful to have hung out with you crazy bunch of gt3 nerds and hooligans this am. Thank you ever so much and really sorry about the super-short notice too. I'm really overwhelmed with all the fun stories, catching-up and motley crew that you are. The pix keep coming in so I'll work on that on Monday! To have you all in one place at the same time instead of one or two at a time was a real treat. I think some of you might even have something in common eh? We're weird and we know it but you guys somehow accept us just how we are.... It's very very humbling.
Thank you Armando. I'm from Europe (or at least the Island that doesn't really think it's part of Europe) and spent many months in the Italian alps et. al over the years. For what my 2000 lire and 2 cents is worth I think that I've had a good Brioche or two in my time. Mooty was right that Brioche was delish! It made me think back to my childhood and the smells, texture of my best friend's grandma who must have been at least 100 at the time (99.9 per cent of those years was spent baking and cooking). Her Alpine oven and cooking set up outlasted two world wars but she also made a mean Brioche. I know she would have been seriously impressed and taken at least a day or two off to have you run things! Your bread.. you had to be there. Just don't forget us lil' people when you're running around in 992 GT3RS' and 918s eh? I'll be visiting your place and so will anyone I know. If I can't find it I'll look for a Bakery with a GT3 of some sort parked in back and I'll know I found the right place. Your Cayenne delivery vehicle is great but I have to say in this case I'm voting for the original lightweight RS spec 1906 barn find model.
Mooty the man, the myth and the legend. He's for real. Cheers as always mate!
jbibelow you came all the way from Sactown and brought a very special guest indeed. What a treat. Everyone was so stoked. Everything I've read/heard is true and you can tell he wears it on his sleeve/face. Nakai San is very passionate and hopefully seeing all those H20 cooled cars made intercepted his brain waves RWB invasion!
Larry you know where I stand on dogs so I do hope you weren't late to that protest? And if you were I have a nice Biodegradable doggie-poop bag (used courtesy of the official sharkwerks security dog) for you to slap someone with. Thanks man my day's are always good when I see a bit of MeCHico blue!
Tye we can talk GT3s and REAL football all day mate.
Everyone on here and not that came. Big cheers to you all.
And if there's one thing I know it's this- the rear-engine manual is a-ok and in good hands. We're not going away quietly that's for sure!
