Default Coolant draining was a PITA!

Only got about 4 of 9 gallons out of the car! Removed both rear drain plugs and disconnected 4 hoses in the wheel wells. Tilted the car nose up/down, tail up/down....

Ran the engine to get the Tstat to open. Ran the heater (no heat came out). Them ran the engine and filled the system and drained again.... Bla!

There has to be a better way!

I hope I don't regret asking this, but why are you doing this?

Bc if a coolant fitting goes I dont want my rear wheels covered in coolant.... Plus a bunch of tracks require it for the GT1 engines that have not been pinned or welded.

Interesting... I feel like water/water wetter dumping all over you're rear wheels would cause similar on track issues...

This is one service I gladly paid my shop for. For this exact reason. It's hard enough to bleed a front engine car let alone a rear engine one with looooong pipes running to the front.

This is something you pay your local indy or the dealer to do as they have the correct tools to do it right. Also, the effect of water vs. water/water wetter vs. coolant on your tires is marginally different between them. There was a report published in the near past covering this as it has been debated ad nauseum. If a track organization required water wetter, I wouldn't run with them. My car enjoys tooling around town as well.

Repressurizing the coolant takes a long time too if DIY without the nifty coolant flush vacuum system to rid of air bubbles. Any bubbles in system something will pop starting with the coolant expansion tank. Mike

Remove the expansion tank cap and the rest of the coolant will fall out.
Kind of like holding your thumb over a straw in a glass of water, pull the straw out of the water and the straw stays full until you release your thumb.
Refilling will be another challenge.

I didn't even know I was dumping water/waterwetter til I got meatballed. Laid a strip at th from brake zone of t14 all the way to exit of t1. Luckily no one spun. Joe was there didn't even know there was a spill and wtf I was on the side of grass at t1. It was a NASA event and tons of cars wizzed by my water dump wo drama. Mike
