Should be possible to do on the aftermarket, now that the new GT3 engine bolts to the box.

Wouldn't be surprised if RUF comes out with a Cayman 7 spd manual + 3.8 DFI GT3 engine.

Now that the new Cayman fits a normal human 6'5" build. Finally a track Cayman that isn't sponsored by "The Lollipop Guild".

They will never build a Cayman or Boxster with a GT3 engine, so this will be as close as it gets.

One can still shoehorn a Carrera S motor into a Cayman or Boxster which has been done.

To shoehorn a new GT3 motor into a new Cayman or Boxster would really be something however it would want the PDK system of the 991GT3 to be effective as the PDK in the cayman/boxter is a different setup/program.

I would like to see a new Boxster Spyder with a Carrera S engine and manual transmission. It would be very doable without pouncing on the GT3 or Carrera Cabrio market share.

BGB can do it.
Already built the 430HP Cayman for 90k
A cayman GT3 would be the same plus what GT3 engine and brakes add..

I'd rather have the old Cayman-R.

Do you think a Cayman/Boxster could handle a shoe-horned 475BHP GT3 type motor without some serious chassis and suspension modifications?

The chassis and suspension can handle it as the new Cayman is stiffer then previous and the weight of the GT3 engine would be no real difference compared to 3.4L.
The transmission and software would be my main concern for the swap in both manual and PDK formats.
(not sure how the cayman manual would mate to the 991 GT3 engine and not sure how the GT3 PDK system would mesh with the Cayman PDK system let alone the electronics and tuning...)
